Just put a deposit on a 5.0 facelift speed/black pack at the weekend. Getting excited.

Sorry, yes. In my excitement I didn't realise it was an XK post.

Great combo, you will enjoy!

We're currently in Lake Luzern after returning from a road trip to Italy in ours, it has been epic to say the least!

Picked this up at the weekend after trading my E92 M3 (great car).

Loving the Jaaaaag but the infotainment system is a joke after being used to BMW iDrive for the past 8yrs.

Beautiful that, silver really works.

You'll enjoy the engine, even after the M3's V8!

Infotainment box was dated when the car was launched back in 2006. Never really understood why they didn’t replace it. You think it’s a modular unit that could easily be either reprogrammed or have the processor upgraded. It’s not as if there would be major expensive machine tool changes to revise them.

I can only assume they bulk buy a few years’ worth of production in advance?

Depending on how many miles you do, the 5 litre may pay off:

My supercharged 5.0 uses less fuel than my old 3.0 V6 Jag engine, and I'm really not shy about using the power.

The direct fuel injection the Gen III engine benefits from (i.e. the 5.0litre) makes a huge difference of fuel consumption, even with the large hike in power output.

Edited to add that the above is the results of my normal usage on unclassified and B-roads, with occasional runs on s/c A-roads. That car rarely sees a dual carriageway and is constantly going up and down through the gears slowing for and accelerating out of tight corners etc. Fabulous engine. Truly!

Infotainment is the minor fly in the ointment but I prefer it to I drive! It I frustrating to change from one screen to another to turn ac on or off, or heated seats!

We just completed our 2nd euro trip of the year coming back from Italy, car was in its absolute element! Lake Luzerne to home in a comfy single 15 hour schlep returning a very respectful 26mpg combined!

The b&w sound system combined with top down, s seats and active exhaust was just sublime. Oh and the route st Marie.. Wow
