Not originally what I was after but this looks a great buy? Do people think these will drop much further in Value? I don't see why higher mileage same age V6S are the same or more?

Saw this car on Auto Trader’s Android App. Thought you might be interested. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Cheers

I would be asking myself why its so cheap for such a low mileage car.

Jag dealer selling with a two year warranty, looks like a safe bet to me. Probably near the bottom value wise and I imagine you could have a years worth of motoring at that price with not much if any depreciation.

Yes I wondered but it's a sale or return car for private buyer. It has 5 year servicing pack too. Invoice shows £86.5k!

I reckon she's got 15KGBP or so to drop in value over the next 2 years. Looking at old tech XK's converts you can get a 2013 for 44KGBP with similar miles. Two years later they are going for about 30K.

Agree there will be circa £15k depreciation over the next 2-3 years but good value with the service pack and 2 years warranty (assuming it's a Jag warranty).

I think the location might have reduced the price a little. Being in the Midlands it would put me off having to collect it from Perth.

One things for sure, F-type prices are heading only one way, and as winter approaches the price drops will increase.

F type V8s are a safe bet depreciation wise

No way £15k in 2/3yrs

What else can you get that's 3 years old, 500PS, V8, looks to die for, great sound

These will bottom out at £40k for a good few years

Wow, that car in the link is a bargain!

You'd be able to sell that next spring for same price

Not surprised. I spoke to him as soon as it was listed and it sounded great

That F type is at a competitive price but I wouldn’t describe its value as ‘bottoming out’ until its nearer 12 years old and 12KGBP. The fact that it’s lost more than half of its value in just 2 years suggests depreciating has not stopped yet. There are so few cars that bottom out so young- Lotus Evoras seem to be a good buy (probably due to limited new ones being sold) and the Audi R8s are stubborn to drop below 35K probably because the old ones look like new ones. But hey, who knows maybe your right?

Oh and you can get the same V8 in the aluminum XKR which are now under 25KGBP, 6 years old with 50K miles – so trade in value probably nearer 22KGBP.

To those in the know, the XK is the same car

But to everyone else the F-TYPE is a whole something new and so you cannot compare their depreciation

I've said it many time before, it comes down to supply and demand, and the V8 S are not so plentyful as you may like to think at £40k are quite a compelling buy which I think there is no equal at that price point

Unsure if that is a piss take comment?

For the past 6 months or so there have been half-a-dozen V8S F-Types under £55k for sale at any one time on AT. The obvious point being, with so many more for sale and sticking, this is a good time of year to buy before prices and demand firm up again in the spring.

unsure if your comment was piss take ?!

15 is nothing !

they are drying up, and will continue to do so

I said it earlier in the thread, they will bottom out at £40k for a long time yet

will likely still be £45k next summer ... maybe down to £40k this time next year, and summer 2018

I'm genuinely confused by your comments.

The number of £50k plus or minus £5k V8S's on AT has more than doubled in the last couple of months and many aren't selling because of the time of year. So it's a good time to buy one. That's my point.

I agree the number of V8S's is finite and that prices will bottom out. It's a point you reiterate on nearly every V8S thread. We get it, ok??!!

What your problem with the number 15??!!
