Hello Everyone,

l have just bought a xj350 2005 3.5 v8 whilst working in Saudi Arabia, the problem l have is when l start driving the car shifts into 1st and second gear smoothly, then when engaging into third it sticks and gearbox fault warning message appears. after that it stays that way until l stop the car and restart it and the message goes away, now for the interesting part, if l drive the car with more speed during the gear shifts? it changes into third no problem and the rest of the gears are fine.

Kick down is fine also, the air suspension light also comes on, now when l start the car from cold? the car shifts into all gears smoothly even at normal speeds, which l dont understand why. l have changed the gearbox ,the gear valve body ,the battery, and run it through a diagnostic test from a specialist in the country but this is Saudi Arabia, and whilst the guys are nice chaps, lm not sure they understand what the problem is, their computer gives a reading which says gear load 3-4 which l dont understand and auto transmission module failure,l came back to blighty for a 6 week holiday a auto transmission guy told me the zf gearbox is very strong, l have had the gearbox oil and filter changed twice, when lm driving on the motorway its fine the air suspension is fine according to the computer test, now the chaps in the garage are saying it could be the heat? although at first l thought thats daft, but in hindsight the fact in the mornings when its colder than the day times the car changes into gears fine even at normal speeds, lm so fed up, l feel like driving the blasted thing into the desert and jump out with a brick on the ecelerator and let it go on until a full tank of juice runs out or it hits a rock and just dies, but l do love the car and l do need to drive to work every morning.

Please guys help me out here.
