Well was looking at Mercs, BMW, and Audi comparables for a while to replace my daily run around A Citroen Grand Picasso. So a daily driver. Looking for the above until a mate gave me a lift of nearly 60 Miles on a combination of country B roads and A roads to Gatwick in his XF 3.0 diesel S Sportbrake. Wow what a car, I was sold and today bought a Fully loaded late 2013 43k I owner Premium 275BHP S through a man dealer with 2 year warranty and fresh major service, tyres and full tank Shell V Power. It also has the 835 Watt Meridian sound 17 speaker system.

Delivery will be about a week, I did have a short test drive, but really do not know what to fully expect medium long term. I am still love struck after my first date and have already committed to at least a two year relationship .......

I have read certain issues, but will not be put off my new love .... will the love last and blossom?

If the 2013 3.0D V6 Premium Luxury I bought in June this year is anything to go by, it will keep a smile on your face.

The 8-speed gearbox is a peach and in my opinion the quality and individuality of the cabin is a step above anything else you can get for the money. Even the engine note is acceptable for an oil burner.

I was looking at PCH on a new XF before I got mine and, unfortunately, the latest model seems to have been built to a price to compete with the Germans. No idea what I'll get next.

you should contact customer relations and outline what has happened.
In my experience they do not look favorably on this.

That's crap! But there's plenty about. My two XFS Jags have been the most reliable cars by a country mile over the German ones I've had. I'm now in a an XFR-S as I don't like the new XF as much. The chassis is still more than capable with 550 bhp going through it, as well as twice as much fuel hehe

Sorry to hear about the let down!

I've had my 3.0 Portfolio S Sportbrake for six months now and the honeymoon period is still going strong.

I came from a 2011 A6 Avant 170 S-Line, which in my opinion was completely soulless.

The XF is streets ahead, it's a car I look forward to driving, every trip is pure joy, from the red heartbeat in the start button, to the noise of the engine under load.
Day to day commuting , 38ish mpg, on the motorway 45/48 without a problem, the performance is well matched to the 8 speed and the 3.0 has plenty of power.
Regrets, absolutely none what so ever.

Diesel?

I get 38.5 average out of my 3.0D and it sounds like a diesel, both on tickover and acceleration. Compared to the S-Types that went before it, it's a very poor experience.

Something wrong with yours. Both my 3.0 diesels were very refined. Yes on tick over you'd hear it and when cold, but otherwise very quiet.

I took it to my local Jaguar dealer who kindly let a technician out with me for test drive; he said it was fine. Oddly it seems quieter from the passenger seat. If you put your foot down a couple of inches for a second do you get a dieselly noise but nothing happening? I really have to stamp on mine to get the turbos going and kickdown seems to be random. Perhaps it's the fly-by-wire setup. I think I'll take it back and ask them to give it a proper checkover before the warranty expires (they didn't sell it). Sorry for the hijack OP!

I smell something fishy or they've made a serious balls up....they need to explain exactly what's happened & how they'll rectify the situation, if you're prepared to even contemplate ever buying a car off them again. If the car is sold, there are plenty more in the market & if your budget allows, the R-Sport Black is a great model with almost every decent bit of kit on a standard.
