Hi,

A mate of mine wants a set of alloys for his X-type. It has 16's on at the moment and he fancies something a little bigger.

Do S-type or XJ series alloys fit or does anyone have any other recommendations?

He doesnt want to pay main dealer prices either, so if anyone can recommend a decent supplier, this would also be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

Biggest OEM fitment on X-Type is 18" with 225/40/18. Any bigger in diameter or cross section and you'll encroach on the wheel/tyre envelope and have clash conditions with Body.

Best handling/ride compromise is 17" on X-Type.

As long as the wheels match this, they'll fit:

5 stud, 108 PCD, Offset of 37..42, C/Bore of 63.4.

So, some other Jag wheels, Mondeo wheels, etc. will fit. As said, 18s are as large as you'd really want to go without having issues.

If anybody has any 18s for sale, let me know... I'm after a pair for the x-type...

get the Jag brochure, some S-Type wheels fit the X. I would always go for Jag OEM wheels (made by BBS for Jag) best ones are the 18' Aruba or I have the 18' Melbournes on mine. Keep an eye on ebay.

Interesting. I'm a little muddled by all the different dimensions. We have found a set on ebay:

Metal Type: Aluminium
Stud Diameter: 108
Rim Width: 8J
Brand: Jaguar
Rim Diameter: 18 inches
Rim Structure: One Piece
Offset: 49
Number of studs: 5

"Set of 4, BRAND NEW 8x18" 'Silverstone' alloy wheels made by Technomagnesio in Italy for Jaguar! (No cheap Chinese rubbish here!!) These 5(stud)x108pcd, offset et49, specifically to fit Jaguar new XJ range, as well as the S and X Type"

I'm a bit concerned by the Offset being 49. Is this really too big for an X-type?
What Rim Width is ok?
