XJ8 4.0 (1998) ECU RE-MAP
Discussion
Just had my XJ8 down to Paramount in Slough for a session on their rolling road. Drove down from Glasgow and arrived at 8.30am. The guys had my car lashed onto the dyno and ready for tie down and initial runs straight away.
Over the past year my car has had several upgrades to exhaust/brakes/intake/fuel etc and I was keen to see what effect it all had had and to optimise the effect of the exhaust, intake and V power fuel changes.
After 3 runs on the dyno and a session with the laptop the result was a very satisfactory 263.7hp.
When driving the car on the real road, it was clear that the changes made at Paramount had resulted in much improved acceleration and sharper response to throttle inputs throughout the rev range.
Paul at Paramout suggested that the car would "learn" over the next 1,00 miles and would improve further. I was happy with what I had, and took this advice with a pinch of salt..However, true to his word with just under the thousand mile racked up (400 that very afternoon) I can safely say that he is correct. I am having great fun at the traffic light Grand Prix!!
So in short if you fancy giving your Jaguar a bit of a boost or just want to see what it actually produces power wise in the real world, get down to the Paramout guys. Well worth the trip.
Has anyone else had a session on a rolling road and what were the results?

Paramount remaped my XKR on the 4th April.
With all the mods I've done showed 312 BHP at the wheels, 411.3 BHP flywheel.
Took it down to an independent Rolling Road after 1000 miles.
Now shows 325.6 BHP at the wheels and 433 BHP flywheel
Have now had the gearbox oil changed, smoother and quicker with my padleshift convertion.
