E Type Charging problems

My 1962 3.8 fhc E Type is unwell and I'm suffering!
I've changed the battery and now got problems with the system not charging (gauge shows discharge at all times).
Maybe I connected it the wrong way round at some point, but I know its the right way round now. Any ideas what it may be?

I would recommend getting the generator and the voltage regulator tested.
