Stability control message
Discussion
The systems are very sensitive to battery voltage, if she has been stood for a week or so, or the battery is a little low, it can cause the lights to come on, give it a good run, turn it off and restart it, if they are still on you, may have a more serious fault.
They also tend to suffer from corrosion of the wheel sensor wiring, a quick check with a diagnostic tool should confirm if this is the case.

Spooky, just booked my XKR in to the garage as the ABS light has appeared along with the DSC system failure message and another one saying Cruise control deactivated!
This doens't always occur seems to be very random, but always all three warnings at the same time.

May just be a damaged ABS lead, usually nearside front. This doens't always occur seems to be very random, but always all three warnings at the same time.

As the man said, this is a common fault. Either make sure the battery is healthy and restart, giving the car time to do a system check, or get a diagnostic check run, or both. I had an '05 XKR which gave me a 'DSC FAILURE' which turned out to be a faulty wheel angle sensor, which was replaced under warranty. No further problems.

Any joy?
Have'nt ordered it yet. Got an XJ8 workshop manual off ebay and waiting for that to arrive so I can look it over.More interestingly, I took the XJ8 for a spin today and had to do an emergency brake. Switchd the car off and when I re-started it, the ABS/stability warning lights had gone out and all looks ok. Don't know how long this will last though.
So, in the short term...I've saved £1,000.
Jags have glitches. My check engine light came on, turned out it was an Oxygen sensor in the X-types exhaust, the cost of a new one was over £400. I know the delaer and they just reset it and I took the chance it wouldn't come back on. It never did, so glad I didn't spend the money!
