Just thought I'd share my current issue with you guys, about two weeks ago I had the engine malfuntion light illuminate so took it to the dealer who are great btw, they took a quick look, reset the alarm and we kept an eye on it, the light came on again last week and the car went in yesterday for investigation. It seems there's a fault with the catalyst so Jag have told the dealer to replace both of them. I'm curious as to what could have caused an issue like this, anyone have any ideas?

This is on a new 07 XKR which has done just over 10,000miles

Faulty part . most likely with a sensor, advised replace Catalyst complete as this is easy solution rather than finding cause

Sorry to hear that. The only problem I have had is I attempted to start the car and had the door open so it started up half way as always just this time I had to step out and move one of my parents car out of the way and when I got back in the break, accelerator and stick were all stuck, I had to call my dealer and take it over. I had to manually pump the breaks (hard) and it eventually started......lesson learned. By the way what is catalyst?

As do you biggrin

Alex, the catalysts are the catalytic converters in the exhaust system.
