Hello Everyone

I have a 1999 3.2 XJ Sport found out that the crankshaft was busted.

I have dismantled the engine fitted a second hand crank shaft, new head gaskets new timing chain tensioners, guides and blades etc etc.

The engine was rebuilt using the special jag tools to set the crank in the right position, the cams in the correct position so no marking was required.

The problem i have is that the engine will not start, It turns over fine there is petrol going in but there is no fire. The instrument panel is not showing any errors nor the OBDII scanner.

Please any advice as to what may be wrong?

Thanks

If the engine has recently been started and then turned off for a few secods it could have flooded. Flooding on these cars is like no other I have driven. It just spins and there is no sign of any compression.

Just a matter of persevering with some battery support connected. I uually begin to find some compression after about 5 minutes and can usually get it started in about 10

Hello Everyone
I managed to get the car to turnover by pressing the gas all the way down then trying to start it.
But now a new problem as occurred.
It only seems to turn over for a few seconds very irratically and then dies.
OBD2 scanner shows P0336 error. Something to do with the crankshaft sensor. I replaced the sensor but no joy.
Any advice is welcome.
thanks
