How hard is a stator motor on a XJR6?

No idea, but it is not too difficult on a standard AJ16 I would not think. If memory serves, one of the bolts is a swine to get at and i think you need to gain access from underneath as well as on top to remove it all. It does seem strange that this apparent minor fault has been left. Questions then are:
1) Is the removal of the starter that difficult?
2) What price is a replacement
3) What state is the ring gear on the flywheel?
If it is (3), then it is an engine out job to even get at it! Not nice!!!

Or gearbox off job, perhaps. Also not nice!
