Beer and Brakes on a 99 s-type
Discussion
Hello all, during a recent beer fest with a mate of mine it would appear that I promised to help him replace the front discs and pads on his 99 v6 S-Type. Now the mechanical side of things doesn't bother me as I have done this sort of thing many times before.
Trouble is that there is no haynes manual for the s-type, a mixed blessing of sorts I spose.
My question is there anything nasty about this job along the lines of special tool part number ... or pressurised brakes a la Range Rover
Also what torque setting for the caliper bolts?
Do I need to remove / reset the ABS sensor
Also are the front bearings tapered and if so what end float do I need to measure on reassembly.
If the wheel bearings are not tapered how is the end float measured etc.
Many thanks for reading these mad ramblings
