Hi all. Every now and again I get the opportunity to get into Pistonheads and I see people posting pictures of their Pride and Joys. Some pretty exotic, others less so. As I join in on the odd topic, I thought I would try to show my 3 toys, none of which could remotely be called exotic but are nonetheless, my P&J's! If (and it is a big if!) I can get this to work, you will see some piccies below (fingers crossed!

This one should be of my 1994 XJ40 Gold Edition, taken in April 2007 when 'dressed' for wedding duty - something I do not make a habit of. This motor has to date covered 111,000 miles and is still going strong. As you can see (I hope) when cleaned and polished, it gleams! This car won the JEC "Best XJ40 of the day" award at the 2006 Southern Rally at Littlecote House, Hungerford.

This picture should be of my 1978 Daimler Sovereign 4.2l LWB. The picture was taken roughly 8 years ago when it was in fine fettle. Unfortunately, it deteriorated when in the hands of the previous owner. I bought it a little over 3 years ago and immedatrly took it off the road to rebuild it. It hasonly done a genuine 57,000 miles. Hopefully it will get MoT'd later this year and my attention will turn to the upholstery and paintwork, both less than perfect! It will however look little different except that it will be fitted with "Kent" alloys, diamond cut with black highlights.

This picture should be of my 1997 X300 Executive. I purchased this one at the JEC rally mentioned above - an award and another toy all in one day! The picture is now a little out of date. It now has a private plate, chrome door mirror backs, stainless steel mesh grills (both upper & lower), red growler badges on the wheels. I also added X308 type chrome edged rear light clusters to smarten up the rear.

Hopefully this has worked, and apologies if it has not. I'm better with spanners - honest!

The JEC is the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. I believe it is by far the biggest club for owners/enthusiasts of Jaguars & Daimlers. They hold two large rallies each year, the Northern and Southern. Their locations do vary. For 2008 it is in Sussex somewhere, I believe. To get details and admission, you need to be a member which is not expensive (£34 + £5 joining fee I think) which opens up a new world of information and technical help, not to mention an excellent monthly club magazine.

The picture of my P&J was on the cover of the 2007 JEC Southern day program. :-)
