Have to say it drives beautifully. Very composed, great sporty ride without being harsh and probably the biggest improvement is the steering feel and ratio.

Didn't realise how much re-engineering went into these things

went to see one but needed little things doing which added up so left it at the moment might consider if the chap goes down in price only part service with car and the clock has been changed only showing 160 for which it should show 190 but the gearbox has had a recon and the engine needed a slight tune it was trying to find its idle.i reckon in total 3 to 4k spent on top will bring it to prestine condition but oviously not to concourse. have you seen the one on mental motors web site .

Is this SKV777R then ? Was the original of Brian Listers and was fitted with 6 x 40mm Webers. Parts are easy to get hold of and many of the reputable Jaguar guys can easily service them.

Really depends on the spec the Last car I have on file is a Mk 3 on a 1994 xjs number J89LJC that had a standard engine rebuild ?? Have a look in the glovebox lid and you will find a brass plate with the details. If it has an engine number starting with LP then its one of Lawrence's
We have now sold 3 in the last 18 months and they tend to fetch around the 30k ish if they have all the goodies and are in good health

gorgeous smile

my uncle, Norman Hillwood invented the Lister Jag back in the 50's, went out and won loads of events in it, all with sponsorship from my Grandfather who worked for BP smile

Lister & Jag are close to my heart smile
hence im making a Lotus - Jaguar (its a lotus Excel, so thinking of calling it an ExcelR 8) smile

BKCHand mentioned a car at David Marks garage earlier in the thread - thats my car , an unusual Lister in that it isnt in the archive list and i think thats because it was used as a test mule.As such it has no body mods apart from the e type style fastback , no skirts or spoilers - looks fabulous to my eye.

Ron Beatty Listers are well engineered , he was a top man , but the later cars leave a lot to be desired i think - David Marks has re-engineered my car to the extent that i now call it the Dave Marks Special.I cant recommend him highly enough, excellent engineer and as honest as the day is long.

The engine itself was re-built by Don Miles of XJR5 and XJR15 fame and finished off by Rob Beere. An output of 495 was mentioned earlier - not on my car it isnt , 7 litre twin chargers , properly intercooled and with Motec management system...........

Compared to my Vanquish it is an awesome beast , noticeably faster albeit brutal delivery of power , handles well but tramlines unlike modern cars but overall is very quick. Am hoping that Ron's son at Wolf Racing is going to help me with rear diff so that it can do 200mph without bouncing on the limiter.

any Lister owner that has a 7 litre will either know of the over fuelling problems using the standard lucas system or they will do as soon as they stretch the car a little , so if you are thinking of owning one be prepared for an engine re-build; no in fact just be prepared for a rebuild of everthing !
