Hi,
I need to be faster at the Nurburgring so I want to buy some 18" alloys intermediate race tyres to use instead of my 20" with standard road tyres. Does anyone know if I can use 18" alloys with the Brembo calipers. Will the wheel be too small for the calipers or will the calipers be too big for the wheel. There's a question. Any advice would be much appreciated.

18's will fit BUT you will need to fit spacer's. NormanD has
them with brembo brakes, he no doubt will let you know the min
width of the spacer's he has used

The Brembo's will fit the 18" radius 'Double 5's' but you will need 15mm spacers on the front.

Thnak you both for your help.

Norman, does this mean I can use any 18" wheel with the correct offsets as long as I use spacers on the front.

Best regards

Hello again Norman,
Okay I'm going for the double 5's. Would yours be 9J on the back and 8J on the front and please can you confirm what tyre widths and profiles you are using on the front and back.

Thanks

Yes I have 8" front and 9" back
Standard tyres are 245/45 front and 255/45 back

I was using 25mm front spacers and 25mm rear to bring the wheels out to fill the arches better.

I have now reduced to 15mm rear spacers and 285/40 tyres on the rear, front as before.

Hi Norman,

Thanks for the clarification. So you can fit safely 285 on 9". That's good because I want to try and keep the width I have now for the track tyres as well.

Thanks again

Mark
