There is no Lister-Eventer, but...
In 1990 Paul Hands build a Hyper Eventer fully upgraded to Hyper specs (engine, gearbox, brakes, suspensions,...). It's Eventer N°58. Sadly it is now back to original specs.
Some Eventers were ordered with TWR upgrade, ie Eventer N°35 fitted with a 6.1 L V12. There are 5 factory XJR-S Eventers with 6.0L engines and there are 2 more Eventers (originaly V12 HE) that were upgraded to RS engine and manual gearbox.
Also 2 or 3 V12 HE Eventers are fitted with manual gearbox and standard engine.
And, as we all know, one Eventer was raced and won the race...

66, Stewart, it's N°66 not 68.

Hi Benji,
No picture or info about registration to help defining which one it was?

Afraid not. I passed me side on at speed, only saw it for long enough to say, "fk me, a Lynx Eventer!"

Hi all

Having done much homework I get the impression that the only cars that are on the market are fully restored cars at top money. Do these lovely cars ever come up for sale requiring work and if so, what sort of price do they command.

We do know of one that hasn't been on the road for probably seven years or more now but it is not for sale at any price at the moment. It was started and run a month or two back, but does need quite a lot of work.

Hi Lowdrag

This seems to be the same message I am getting wherever I look. I foolishly thought that if I found one needing plenty of work I might be able to afford one. In my own head, I just could not justify the prices being asked for the really good cars.

Thanks for your info. best regards Phil

Hi Phil,
Price requested for good Eventers only reflects what owners spent to make them good. How much are you ready to spent buying one and how much in restoring it?

Hi BDF

Totally understand the price asked for restored cars but was just saying that I could not afford one at that sort of money. This is why I had hoped that there might still be the odd one that could be bought for restoration.

Here are some figures about Eventers:
First prototype is N°001 and last Eventer is N°67 but in the interval some were not built.
Only 63 were built including 3 driving prototypes, not 67 or 68 as one can read usually
1 is known as destroyed.
5 are projects needing a full restoration but they are not for sale at the time and most of them are currently in process of beeing restored.
7 are missing. Missing means I don't know where they are and who are their owners but it doesn't mean they are project or they were destroyed. Amongst the 7 "missing" Eventers 3 are supposed to be in US.
50 Eventers are in decent to very good condition, original or restored.
You have more chance finding a decent Eventer at reasonable price from a long time owner than finding a complete project, hence my question about the budget you could spent buying and restoring one.

Hi BDf

Thank you for the info. I now see the difficulty of finding one for restoration. So if I am now looking to buy one in decent condition what would I have to pay.

Thank you again for your assistance

best regards Phil

Expect to pay from 25 to 65+ K£ for a driveable Eventer today, from poor condition to very good.
