Many Thanks for sorting out my photo's NormanD.
Wrong thread, but can you tell me how to do that?

That's OK

If you open my post up by going into 'Quote' you will see how the links read

Maybe best to copy and past and do the same with your post,
print them both out and you can see how they differ

Hi there, fairly new on here post wise,
no apologies that this is an old one after viewing all these lovely modern jags,
amongst others have had this MK2 3.4 MOD since march.

got it mot'd and taxed eventually (had to re-register as Historic as that didnt exist in 1986!) in the middle of march after a couple of weeks mincing about.
It needed a pair of nylon steering column bushes for a new mot. not bad for a car thats not hit the road since 1986. it was in the previous owners dry garage well before I even passed my test! just 5 miles from house.

Basically i bought it off a fella that had 80% restored it in 86/87 and fell into bad health. it came as you see it, boot full of trim and lights etc, lots of spares. i put a few bits back on, made the lights work etc etc and did the column bushes and it was off up the road ready to rob a few banks. The engine has been overhauled already, although its a bit smoky when given the big oommph, 4 syncro box and overdrive all work like new, it rides beautifully on the new tyres that were in the boot, the brakes had been mostly sorted, I've finished that off and have been well busy since march detailing/repairing/restoring/buying interior parts restored the front suspension with new joints/bushes/joint gaitors, sorted the geometery and generally loving the classic jag thing, its superb.
since then have done 2000 miles out and about and it gets plenty of looks.
roll on some nicer weather

My 55 Plate XK8 4.2s - its just been lowered, poly-bushed and had a Limited Slip Diff fitted (the latter means it actually made it off the drive in the snow, unlike last year):

Practicing the Scandinavian flick in my old 3.0SE:

(Not really, I was reversing out of somebody's drive)

And here's one taken at South Mimms Services sometime after midnight last April as I brought its replacement back from Wiltshire:

Quite poignant as my co-driver died six weeks later frown

There are some lovely Jags in this thread.

Here is my XJ40. I have owned this a long time and it was once my late father's company car. That was a while back!!
The XJ40 will be 25 years old in 2011, and out of production for 17 years. Amazingly, this makes it the same age as the E-Type was in 1986.

Thanks David, he was my best friend. Saw him the day before, he seemed fine. As a younger man he'd had a Mk2 and wrecked it on a roundabout one dark night - to the end he kept the Leaper on his hearth as a memento. And it was him who encouraged me to buy my first Jaguar...

That is so hard. You have my sympathy.
