Great Drive in the Jaguar XJR-15
Discussion
Thanks - it's a pleasure.
As an aside, I went to meet some senior Jaguar brass a couple of weeks back, including Ian Callum (who, I learned, designed the front of the XJR-15; while Peter Stevens did the overall shape, he was already heading off to McLaren to do the F1, as the XJR-15 was being finalised. Ian had some great stories about the XJR-15 and what it was like to work at TWR at that time.)
It was, as you can imagine, a great day out and I was well looked after, especially as I brought another product of that great TWR era along with me.

Glad to see a bit of activity in one of the XJR-15 threads on the web, they'd all gone a bit quiet recently.
Steve, do you know how many are on British soil nowadays? Looking back you've said a few more were coming over. Seems to be a lot of older supercars are returning to British shores at the minute, certainly there seems to be more McLaren F1's here right now than there have been in a good while.
Do we also know if the owner of the LM (I know he's on TeamSpeed but can't remember his username) has sorted the car out?
Also any of Ian Callum's stories that you could share in the public domain?

Sorry for the lack of updates but been very busy with my 1 year-old daughter, who makes even more noise than my XJR-15.
I do know that a lot of the Japanese cars have now been sold to UK / European and Australasian purchasers. The number in the UK has definitely increased but we are still only talking a handful - maybe 10 to 15. However, knowledge of the car seems to have increased a lot. I spoke to a new owner the other day, who said he snapped one up (from Japan) as it's his best alternative to a McLaren F1 (GTR), which is 15+ times the value.
Ian Callum was charming, generous with his time and showed me around his design studio, which of course I am sworn to secrecy on!
