Audi A6 3.0 TFSI - goodbye, it was great driving you...
Discussion
Having owned this car for nearly 3 years, I have to say, while it was not the most exciting metal I had ever driven, it was a great all-rounder. I suspect that due to fuel and running costs, the diesel variant of the A6 (3.0 Tdi) was a more popular choice. Therefore do not think there are many examples of this C6 in this guise around on the roads.
In years to come, this will be a great fast luxury saloon to own, probably at a bargain price, if you can stand the fuel costs. I never got tired of the way that supercharged engine would give you so much power in the early rev's, it was instant. It would always surprise me the way it would keep accelerating from standstill, the quattro never letting it get out of shape.
It was big and comfortable, not too suspicious looking, nice in the S-line trim and had all the right extras. It was very reliable, doing many a long trip was effortless. The only things that I would have improved. Firstly I think the throttle response could of been more sensitive, I imagine a remap would have sorted that. The steering feel was not sporty enough for me. Maybe the S-line suspension a tad harsh. If anyone was in the market for a fast saloon, don't discount these cars. I will miss it..

Good on you for choosing the petrol version over the TDi (not insulting anyone that drives a TDi of course!) I've owned a couple of Audis and they've been petrol - very smooth and good all rounders!
If I didn't do 30k miles pa when I ordered the car I may have gone for petrol, but it makes sense to use diesel for that mileage. Diesel is also much better resale valueblueg33 said:

Awesome engine, isn't it!
Out of interest, what's your long term average like?
I reckon between 17-21MPG. I did allot of B-road driving. Motorways would get over 30MPG. Your right the engine is awesome! On paper the 0-60 time was under 6 secs, however felt allot quicker than that. No doubt a real fire cracker in the S4!!Out of interest, what's your long term average like?
We looked into getting one of these before going the more common route of the 3.0TDi.
On paper the figures from Audi aren't too far apart, and as we're on the cusp of petrol v diesel (15k a year), I figured we could stomach the drop in mpg.
But as you've said, and as I've read, the actual figures tell a very different story. I just couldn't justify it.
