Strange paint finish on the wheels but Daytona with optics looks good smile
Some of the A8 sline's around 2010 had similar paint finish on the wheels. Sort of a shadow chrome?

Like the 'titanium' finish on R8 wheels? I've never heard of an A8 S-Line.

The picture above looks different to that, Audi never did it but you see a lot of replica wheels in that finish. The wheels in the picture are the originals just in a differnt colour/s.

I am certain I looked at an A8 Sline at Parklands, the reason I am certain is because I was going to buy it. It was new and un registered, had wheels just like the ones in the pic. It was one of the very last of the previous A8's (I forget the Audi code). Maybe I am getting dementia!

Just realised, it was a Quattro Sport

like this

except the wheels where darker, on close inspection they were two colours giving the shadow effect

The wheels were refurbished by the garage I bought from, I'm really pleased with them as it's a nice finish and just makes it look slightly different from any others you see on the road and goes well with the black pack grill and roof bars IMO.

I'll take another pic from the side when it stops raining.

Black optics, now called "black styling package" gives you piano black grille surround and satin black to window surrounds, roof rails and exhaust finishers.

They're quite subtle styling mods but I do like them.

Works very well.

OK, thought for a minute I'd got something extra that I didn't know about wink

Brake pads; Anyone know where to get brake pads other than from Audi dealership for the LeMans 3.0 TDI? There seems to be some confusion at the usual places and I would like a type code. Thanks.

Its very confusing, after weeks of faffing about, I just bite the bullet and get them from Audi. So many different part codes and sizes come up on non Audi websites

There are a few examples for sale with 150k on the clock. What sort of things should one look out for at this mileage?
If they have this mileage then they must have been used on the motorway, so better than a 'town only' car ie DPF won't be an issue..

Mine has 105k on the clock. No issues whatsoever (fingers crossed) Only replacement parts to date (excl service items like filters) are:

Front ARB links
Front Discs and pads
Rear pads
Engine undertray (damaged by driving through floods summer 2007)
Rear bumper (thanks to a young lady in a Saxo who forgot to look where she was going)

I have owned the car from new

It does need 1 part which I have to order - the rubber strap that that keeps the fuel filler cap captive has snapped

I've just ordered an air filter for mine. When I was changing a Xenon recently I noticed how stty it looked.

Any ideas how often the air filter is supposed to be changed according to the service schedule? I'm thinking that it's not often irked

Hi All.

Just after some advice, im looking at a 2007 3.0 tdi Le Mans here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140931033519?ssPageName=...

I phoned up and might be going for a viewing this weekend. Its one previous owner, has been an Audi demo car but FASH. Everything maintained. I was told it had a scratch on the wheel arch which was fixed and also had the wheels referbed. Its on 125k but after having a 3Series and A4 on high mileage, I know its not an issue. Iv just sold my Honda CRV to get one of these and that was only on 46k so im a little concerned at the mileage jump but im sure its ok if its a well maintained vehicle.

Tyres have about 3/4m all round. Seems a clean motor to me. As above, I will check the history for parts changed, check the elecs i.e sensors etc. Do you think this looks good value for the price?

I have noticed that some Le Mans editions have the little badge under the small side indicator light some dont, any reason for it or is it just people de-badging?

Also, im really after the paddles, not quite sure if this model has them. Is there any way of upgrading the MMI version without going to the garage? (excuse my ignorance here).

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

2007 Sline 3.0tdi will have the paddles, mine is an 07 and has the paddles, and you can see them behind the wheel on the photos.

My car never had the Le Mans badges, but I didnt delete them, I think Audi were just inconsistent. My car was delivered 1st March 2007, it seems to be cars from April/May onwards that I have seen with the badges.

Spec looks good.

Make sure there is life left in the brakes as OEM discs and pads aren't cheap.
Maks sure all 4 wheels have same tyres on them at the very worst make sure they match across axles
As comments in the rest of the thread check for spills in the front cupholder and leaks from the rear wash wipe near the electronics in the boot.

Mine is on 106k miles and looks and drives like new. Only mechanical part I have replaced other than brakes is fron ARB drop links at 86k miles.

Audi do a useful MOT warranty. If they MOT the car you get a warranty that they will fix MOT failures next year (obvioulsy tyres and brake materials excluded). My ARB links were done under this warranty.

Hi guys

new to the forum and looking for some advice on these 3 potential cars (a saloon and 2 avants)

http://www.aspicars.com/used-cars/audi-a6-saloon-3...

http://www.hrautos.co.uk/used-cars/audi-a6-avant-3...

http://www.grahamhiltoncars.co.uk/used-cars/audi-a...

Should I be concerned about the mileage at 113k on the last one? ..it's my favourite visually.

Still can't decide if I want the saloon or the huge avant!
