Picked it up today and it's better than I'd hoped it would be. It's so smooth and comfortable to drive (comfort mode) and my passenger didn't notice gear changes (manual).

My initial impression is that I'm going to regret not paying the £850 for the Dynaudio upgrade as the stock speakers don't sound great, although they might need to be used for a while before they perform to their best.

Other wee things I've noticed - the driving position, namely the seat height. I'm 6'1" and even with the seat height adjusted as low as possible I still feel quite high up and close to the roof. Still, the seats are very comfortable and well-made. The stitching is impressive and I'm glad I went for the cream interior and dashboard.

I'm going to take some pictures tonight and upload them asap.

I keep reaching for the handbrake in this car. It takes a bit of getting used to. The stereo isn't as average as I thought it was initially. After messing about with the EQ it seems much better.

It's just a small thing but I really like the clips that you can hang your messages on in the boot of the car. You don't hear any clattering or movement when you're going round a corner.

The car is really quiet in general. Road noise is hardly noticeable and I haven't had the engine at high enough RPM to notice it producing any sound.

I've filled her up with the latest Super Unleaded from Shell (Nitro Plus) and she feels as smooth as ice at all times. We climbed a steep hill earlier in third gear and I hardly had to use any power to keep her climbing the hill. She did it with ease and it felt like there was more than enough torque to push her up the hill with speed if I'd wanted to.

My biggest gripe is definitely still the ride height and the lack of seat adjustment. I'm not exactly a giant (6'1") and I still feel too high up. Maybe it's because I've been so used to sitting very low in my previous car (1 Series M Sport Coupe).

Edit - Casa, are you still planning on buying a CC? Hope the pictures helped.

Edit - I had the loan of a F30 320 Sport with lots of options for 2 weeks earlier this month and the only thing I prefer about it is the driver's seat position and the centre console height. The CC is smoother and feels just as well-built as the 320. It feels like a more luxurious car than the 320 Sport. The suspension (Adaptive Chassis Control as standard in the CC) glides over the terrible roads we have in Glasgow and external noise is almost non-existent in the cabin.

Over the past decade we've tended to buy BMWs (E46 M3, 2006 Z4, 1 Series M Sport Coupe) but this time I'm glad we tried something a little different. If the 2 or 4 Series had been available then we'd probably have gone for one of them, but until they are then this CC is a brilliant car for us.

Stunning looking car - good call on the cream interior - it looks lovely.

Glad to hear the ACC works well for you - nothing more annoying imo then a car that jolts over bumps.

Thank you , Sir Fergie. I appreciate you commenting on the pictures I posted.

I'm really enjoying the first few days with her. I remember when we bought the M3 the BMW salesman and folks online told us to take it easy for the first 1200 miles as the engine needed to be bedded in. Don't know if it's the same with a much less powerful CC GT but I'm still taking it easy just now.

Lovely looking car Kubrick, I've just been told to expect mine within the next two weeks, possibly next week smile

Will have the same interior but external colour is Autumn Brown. I'll post some pics up as well. Will be a huge step up in driving experience from my current car so can't wait.

Edit: I went for the Dynaudio upgrade so looking forward to some serious tunes. Anyone come up with a good solution for integrating their music collection? I'm thinking large USB stick or my old 2nd gen iPod Touch.

Yep this yes

You have to be a bit smart with your folder and file names to make navigation easy. As I'm lazy I tend to leave mine on the 'Mix All' option most the time (accessed through the Extras menu) but its reasonably easy to find a specific track/ album when desired.

I wasn't aware the RNS315 had an SD card but having just checked the web I see you're right, right in front of me all the time and never saw the slot rolleyes

Is there a file or folder limit? If not I'll just sync with my iTunes folder and go from there, I'm sure a few thousand tracks should be OK.

Nice one, thanks.

I've 32gb of music on it with a fair few folders so doesn't appear to be a limit.

Hello, slight thread high jack here.

Does anyone have experience of the CC 3.6? What standard spec comes with this model? How sensibly priced is the servicing on these?

Guessing the real world economy will be pretty shocking, however the basic specs make it sound like an admirable - 300hp, 4motion, DSG etc.

Not available in CC format over here but pretty sure the V6 can be had in America.

Only experience I have of the V6 Passat CC is a friends Dad a few years ago. Had a DSG box I remember that much, and was pretty nippy. I think it was distinguishable by an exhaust at either side rather than the standard twin on one side?

Don't think I've ever seen another one on the road to be honest!

Casting my mind back I don't remember it having anything that mine doesn't have? In fact I don't think it had Xenons? Was definitely leather and DSG.

On another note, having looked again at the white one above, I'm having slight colour envy as it really does show off the attractive lines of the car better than my silver one does. Not sure on the interior though, I think I prefer the black leather... or tan leather on a black.

There are currently 6x 3.6l V6 Passat CC's for sale on Autotrader, see here: http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/volk...

Thanks for the additional information. Did not know that about the exhausts, will take a look on Google Image and see what I can find.

They are Passats... Not a single 'CC' as far as I can see...

(I.e the facelift, better looking, more modern version)

No they are CCs. Some of them show the CC badge. When I bought my march 10 car the 3.6 was definitely available.

You're confusing Passat CC with CC.

When Passat was dropped from the name and it was facelifted AFAIAA they dropped the V6 engine.

Your March 10 is a Passat.

If you read my post again you'll see that I said I have some experience of the Passat CC V6 as a friends dad had one.

Thank you for the clarification. A quick Google shows you're correct; in effect the original Passat CC was a Passat in fancy clothing and the option of the 3.6 V6 from the R36. With the facelift in 2012 the car was updated, name revised to just CC and the V6 dropped (boooooo).

So then, back to my original question, does anyone have real world experience of the Passat CC 3.6 day to day? Running costs acceptable? Standard spec?

To be fair they are essentially the same car just a shortened name and sight aesthetic updates. But then having said that the pre-facelift was also branded as just 'CC' in the North American market nerd

Now you're just being obtuse. The 'Passat' CC was no more or less a regular Passat than the current CC is, which remains largely the same, mechanically, as the 'Passat' CC.

Both derivations of CC use the same platform, which is not the same as the regular Passat. The interiors have always been different, not to mention the body shell, which has not significantly changed since VW dropped the Passat from the CC description.

I have some experience of the Passat and the CC, having a 2008 Passat, which went when I bought the CC. I can tell you for a fact that they are very different cars and that the latest CC is no more than a facelift of the older model.

Finally, the CC was only the 'Passat' CC in certain markets, notably the UK. In the USA and elsewhere, it was always only the CC.

I quote:

The Volkswagen CC (originally known as the Volkswagen Passat CC in its first generation[2]) is a four-door sedan version of the Volkswagen Passat. It debuted in January 2008 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. According to Volkswagen, the suffix CC stands for Comfort Coupé.

The Passat CC falls between the Passat and the Phaeton in VW's range — while based on the Passat, and sharing its wheelbase, the CC is 27 mm (1.06 inches) longer, 50 mm (1.97 inches) lower, and 36 mm (1.42 inches) wider than the Passat
