Now you're just being obtuse.
Correct.

However, was I wrong? sleep
Yes, you were. The current CC is no more or less a Passat than the pre facelift. There was a 3.6 CC available. The ads do show CCs

How wrong do you want to be?

The current CC is not named a Passat and the pre-facelift is, how more correct can I be?

Are we going to start calling the TT a Beetle because the current shapes share a chassis?

Passat CC - 3.6 available.
CC - 3.6 not available.

Thanks Ask1974. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of your car once you get it. I've been getting back into detailing and have bought a few items to keep her clean at all times. Here's some pictures I took the other night after applying Gtechniq C2v3 to the paintwork...

There are one or two small issues that have cropped up since receiving the car.

1 - The auto rain sensor doesn't seem to work properly after applying the Gtechniq sealant to the windscreen. This doesn't seem to be a problem with others makes and models (e.g. BMWs).

2 - The air filter setting shouldn't have been linked to the function of the AC system. Is there a way to ensure that pressing the air filter button doesn't simultaneously turn on the AC? I'm aware that pressing it again cycles the mode but sometimes it doesn't allow you to simply have the filter run automatically, i.e. the option to do so disappears from the menu.

3 - The quality of the base carpet is poor and is easily damaged. I removed the mats to vacuum them and drove the car for about 15 minutes without them in place. Now the carpet has light spots where it seems to have become worn and damaged.

Apart from those little niggles the car is brilliant and so comfortable to drive. The engine has enough power and the standard stereo is fine for my needs.

Yep, very nice Kubrick and thanks for the heads up on the floor matts. Mine arrived at my dealer yesterday so I popped in to have a peep this evening, unfortunately it won't be ready until the end of next week so I agreed to collect on Sunday and have the short lived thrill of driving a 63 plate... I could only view from the outside but took the opportunity to grab a photo or two;

Very pleased with the colour especially as it's the first time I've seen it in the flesh, unfortunately couldn't get inside and the seats were covered so couldn't get a good look at the black / desert beige interior - I think it'll work but still a little apprehensive.

Took the opportunity to test media on a demo car with the RNS315. For anyone interested it played everything I tried from a 32GB class 10 SDHC card with over 6000 tracks and multiple folders; that includes both MP3 and AAC files. I also plugged in my old iPod Touch (2nd gen) with 32GB of music and this was fine to. I'll probably use the iPod as music selection is much, much easier - just like an I pod really where as the SD card is via folder only, no genre, playlist, album or artist search so a real faff to find content. Happy days....

That looks lovely, Ask. We chose Candy White a long time ago now but I vaguely remember considering Autumn Brown but not really liking the look of it on the VW configurator app for the iPad. It looks so much nicer in your pictures and is much subtler than the example on the configurator suggests (assuming I'm remembering it correctly).

You'll get a fantastic sheen off of that colour, especially if you use something like the C2v3. Somebody else recommended that to me on another popular forum and it's been a complete bargain so far. In the past I've paid nearly £200 for Zymol wax, but I think the Gtechniq sealant is even better than that, although the £170+ purchase of wax was back in 2002.

Looking forward to seeing the interior of your car. Hope the Dynaudio is really good. I asked the salesman for a demo of it but they had no cars for me to listen to it in. I'm sure it must be a big improvement over the stock system. In the past I've owned BMWs with upgraded Harman Kardon systems and it's definitely been worth paying the extra to get them. For some reason I ended up being unsure about paying nearly £900 for the upgrade.

I have some music on my phone and have been listening to it in the car via Bluetooth. It seems to work well and the quality also seems fine. Still, I can't find a way of changing albums without accessing the phone itself, which isn't convenient when I'm driving.

I'm still surprised that the carpet looks damaged next to my pedals despite it only being exposed to my trainers for a short period of time. The carpet just doesn't feel quality to the touch and can be pulled up from the base of the car when you're vacuuming it. No other car I've owned has had a carpet that wasn't firmly affixed to the floor of the vehicle.

Still, I love getting into this car and going for a relaxing drive somewhere.

Yes, the VW Configurator app is awful for external colour selection but to be fair I thought it was generally a very good app and extremely useful, for colour selection you really need to browse online (Autotrader is good) or get to a dealer. The Autumn brown looks Grey in the app and blue is really vivid, there's a blue CC at my dealer and having been completely put off by the app seeing it in the flesh was quite a surprise, very nice.

Absolutely, the blue is lovely. I kind of regret not going with a dark colour to be honest.

Black is nice but IMO a little boring.

The blue, once I'd seen one in the flesh I was a bit annoyed with myself for not making an effort before ordering silver.

I agree, black's a bit corperate but TBH it's such a good looking car you can't really go wrong. I've had a blue car with black leather interior for six years so I was keen to go for something much lighter, who knows next time...

OK so about four weeks into ownership of my CC. Hugely pleased and love the drive, the 140 block is good in a strong, relatable type of way without setting your pants on fire. Needs a little gearbox work to get the best out of it but I'm in less of a rush to get everywhere these days so it's plenty good for me. Motorway cruising is superb though, it just eats miles and is unbelievably comfortable.

I think a friend of mine summed up the car a few days ago when he noted that (after a while in the car) the VW badge was a surprise to see, easy to think you were in a more executive car. It does feel very nice inside.

Oh, I went for the Dynaudio speaker upgrade and it's stunning. Specifying a new car today it's the first thing I'd add, it's that good.

Just seems pointless it only opens an inch, and on the inside it's the size of a standard sunroof. If it where a proper panoramic jobbie then I be sold on it

It's does look ok on the out side though just of functional enough for me to pay the premium for it. Is it heavy or lighter than the standard roof?

I'm a big fan of how it looks on the outside more to be honest.

Imagine it's probably heavier but that's just a guess.
