That's exactly the method I used to spec mine. Including the initial deposit payment meant I could not get too carried away. I am currently 'topping up' to run the 640 and set myself a target of not doing that anymore.

Unsure about the ACC but with the amount of potholes that are appearing around this town it might be a sensible option. I was always impressed by the ride on our 2012 S3 but lately these crater sized pot holes have got the better of it! I suspect the R might be a tad harder as standard? the low profile tyres on the R look particularly vulnerable as well.

Are people going for maintenance included and is it a good deal on a 2 year lease? is it variable servicing or will it require 2 services on that length of lease.

I initially specced the basic nav but my friend, who took delivery of his new Mk7 GTI, put me right off it so I swapped it for the Comfort Climate screen and Advanced Phone
Off topic, but would you mind sharing what he thought was wrong with the basic nav?

Afternoon all,

Pulling the trigger on this today;

New Volkswagen Golf Hatchback 2.0 TSI R 3dr DSG
+ Special Solid Paint, Pure White
+ 19” Pretoria Alloy Wheels
+ Winter Pack
+ Rear View Camera
24 Month Contract
6 + 23 Profile
10,000 Miles per Annum
  • Fully Maintained contract
£346.50 Including VAT – Personal Contract Hire
Initial Rental £2,079.00 incl. VAT
Admin fee £180 incl. VAT

Not sure if I need the maintenance on a 2 year lease but the thought of testing this new launch control may dictate me requiring tyres sooner than I first thought smile .....

This is the pic that led me to the spec listed above. I'm aware that is the 'special' Oynx white, but the solid white shouldn't be too different, especially after a few days in the UK climate.

They do look good don't they?

I'm becoming more and more interested in one of these, 19" alloys, ACC, Winter pack, DSG and Metalic paint.

I've sent off for a firm price from Broadspeed, let's hope they come back with a good deal.

Love that front spoiler / splitter.

It's a G2L special rate at the moment, the current offer beats any other I can find even without maintenance for the spec I want. Therefore I've not tried to haggle a price without the maintenance included as part of the deal.

Maintenance Package include:

Mechanical and electrical repairs or replacements, including associated parts and labour due to fair wear and tear.

Not sure I would incur any service costs in the first two years but they would be included.

Also Bulbs, Batteries, Exhausts, Cam Belts, Wiper Blades, Alternators & Starter Motors

MOT tests

Unlimited Premium Branded tyre replacements including valve and balance

Free mobile tyre fitting service at a convenient location for you by appointment

No recharges for punctures or damaged tyres

So when my premium ££££££ 19" tyres get a puncture or are down to their last few mm I get replacements free of charge.
Same for Xenon lights, wiper blades etc.

Also I'm aware there is rose tint in my glasses but those gorgeous 19" Pretoria alloys remind me of the rims the 911 GT3 comes shod with, what just me........? wink

Just found this thread - I've got one on order too...

2014 VW Golf R 5-dr Manual with Metallic Paint (Lapiz Blue) and Navigation

Have driven a few DSG cars in the past and didn't really get on with them, so Manual for me.

Delivery expected end of April.

So if you burn out the tyres at your local cruise / track / supermarket car park then they'll come and replace, over and over?

Those deals on the M135 don't exist any more and a basic one has a lot less spec than an R..
Yep st spec. No cruise or parking sensors even though they are standard on a 2003 316i SE
But isn't leather a relatively expensive option on the R but standard on the M135i? I know the leather on the R includes heated seats but you can add those, cruise control and parking sensors front and rear to an M135i and still not spend the £1,700 VW asks for a leather interior! When you take into account the higher level of discount available on the M135i I think there's nothing in it on price between the two if you're looking to buy (certainly not enough to swing the decision one way or the other). Having said that good deals come and go on leases and if you can secure one on a special offer I can see that might tip the balance. However, both are fine cars and I think it's a case of you pays your money and takes your choice - neither would be a bad one!

Looks great but since when has solid white paint been "special", manufacturers dont know what to take the piss on next...

I have been quoted £306 inc Vat for 6+23 on the follwing:

Golf 2.0 Tsi R DSG 5dr - Fully Maintained 10K pa

with:
Metallic
Beam Assist

Never leased before, is this a good deal?
Really like the sound of maintenace included, however, there must be a catch!

Surely if I burn a set in 10,000 miles, that would come under driver error?

That looks a great deal - who's that with ? - exact spec I'm after.

How long does delivery take ? The new R is out now ?

I would have thought that would be with Gateway2lease as it's got the maintenance included. I added a few options like winter pack and the larger alloys and came out at around £340 with DSG again with G2L. Service has been first class. Nothing is in stock however so expect May-June delivery if you order now.

You can check what stage of the build process your car is at much like the Domino's pizza tracker.................

On a slightly naughty note, a fully removable piggyback tuning box for £450 will get you 345bhp which is rather nice in an inconspicuous shopping car. 0-60 in around 4.5 with launch control is nice pub talk too smile

The car isn't out yet... demos don't arrive with dealers till later this month, and won't be registered until 1st March.

I ordered two weeks ago, and was quoted delivery at end of April.
