OK thanks Ben.

It's interesting to see VW do similar deals to bmw with their M135i.

The VW beats the BM on CO2 which is a big pull for me (company car allowance rules)

Ordered! 5dr black/DSG. Would've liked a couple of options but hey - less than 1/2 the monthly cost of the RS4 I really wanted, leaves plenty of cash left over for insurance/fuel and a decent holiday!

Thanks again Ben

With 300hp and a much stiffer bodyshell, better Haldex & better DSG, what's to miss about the asthmatic R32?

£270 a month covers an R32's fuel bills, just about, so you'd be better off too!

It's a no brainer for me, and yes, I do also have an R32 wink

That does sound good for a 4 pot. Looks pretty rapid too from those on board shots.

What delivery date has been quotes for those who har ordered?

The R is worth it for the revised Haldex alone, which since Gen 4 drives more or less like the old Torsens, but with faster reactions to changing environmental conditions.

I ordered mine on the 24th of Dec, but requested a longer delivery time to synchronise with my current lease end in May. Apparently the normal delivery date would have been the beginning of April. My current BMW was quoted as 10wks originally, but ended up being 16wks so we will have to wait and see..

Quite looking forward to this one, I have been looking to downsize ofter a series of big cars, and keeping the same horsepower in a smaller package could be just the ticketsmile

I just missed out on the M135i deal and might have a look at one of these instead unless they are very stiffly sprung. Anyone with an opinion on ride quality?

Is the golf more practical than the M135i, looks like the boot sizes are the same (for the R) but consensus is the golf is bigger inside?
I haven't sat in the BMW.

Best deal I have found is a 3dr DSG in Black, 10k p.a, 6 months upfront (£2k) for £325 inc VAT. £340 inc VAT if you want maintenance. Both deals over the 2 years. Only sticking point for me is the 22p excess mileage charge...

I should note actually that the companies that are significantly cheaper appear to all be between 22p and 25p excess mileage.

Im currently getting quotes on these too.

Looking to downsize a little bit from my 3.0 TDI A5 as its starting to go "wrong", Im doing less miles now and love the thought of going back to petrol.

Im looking at a 3dr DSG in Lapiz Blue with the winter pack and nav. Ill post up if i find anything interesting.

Possible stupid question, but is this definitely for the new R, and not the outgoing R?
