My Golf R order progression....
Ordered 9th June, given september delivery date.
Order number given 16th June...delivery now est late september.
Phoned today and provisional build week is 38....so probably a mid to late October delivery
My order date was June 20 with build week 39 (provisionally) so should be about a week after you, I reckon.Ordered 9th June, given september delivery date.

I'm guessing you added a few extras to the spec which pushes delivery out a little - is that right?

Got a voice mail from dealer on Friday to say car was ready and to call to organise delivery. Gave them a call back to say it was "ready" but they were yet to tax it.
So arranged a showroom handover for this Friday at 9am. Be interested to see if it's a full handover or just a "here's the keys".
Mine will have been 15wks from order to collection, although nearly 3 weeks of that the car will have been at the dealer.
can i ask what lease company you guys went with this is all new to me and feel safer looking at a company where someone's progress is going well? thanksSo arranged a showroom handover for this Friday at 9am. Be interested to see if it's a full handover or just a "here's the keys".

Delivery timescales seem to be a bit of a lottery, think the biggest factor is available dealer allocation but then as the difference between mine and David's shows even then there can be some significant differences.
Hi All,
Been trawling through this forum for the past few weeks with interest!
I am just about to order new r on a business lease and wondered if anyone could help me.
I have a quote from VW but wanted to see if the £199 (or close) deals are still actually out there with some brokers?
Has anyone else taken a business lease and id be very grateful to here where from and how much/lead times.
Looking at a 3dr, blue, manual at the moment. 10k per annum or less if possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Both ordered through Leaseplan Go, perhaps not as cheap as some of the more recent leases but apart from the wait it's all been pretty painless.

I have been assured by LPG that dealer allocation has nothing to do with it - purely factory logistics. Not sure I wholly believe them given my relatively low spec though its acknowledged that DSG takes 3-4 weeks longer due to availability issues.Delivery timescales seem to be a bit of a lottery, think the biggest factor is available dealer allocation but then as the difference between mine and David's shows even then there can be some significant differences.
At least I have another month to enjoy the Megane R26 - anyone want to buy it?

Dunno but i'll do you a deal, if you hear of anyone that wants an under 50,000 mile black astra VXR point them in my direction and vice versa ?David
Lot of good cars about to come onto the second hand market
Picked mine up this morning,
All I can say is wow. Totally different power delivery to my Mk5 (Which I knew would be the case). Makes my old S3 feel like a wheelbarrow.
I'd heard people say that the power delivery and experience is linear, Well... I disagree, the power is explosive, and in race it feels like a right hooligan. I've done 165 miles today in it, and I've loved every one. I expected the power to drop off top end, but it pulls and pulls up to where I had to stop myself.
Amazing car.

Is Phil still processing orders? I've heard nothing back from him in 2 weeks. And phone going to voicemail.
Just after a quote so I can tell whether I should stop shopping around.
He has had issues with email but you can get him on phone no problems. I rang and spoke to him earlier. Just after a quote so I can tell whether I should stop shopping around.

Normally, I think you're right but I understand that some options which are reliant on external suppliers can add som time to the process. However, Imran's order is similar to mine re colour and manual but I have added a couple of options and delivery and build appear to be similar anyway so not applicable in this case.
I'm pretty confident I am right ollielloyd said:

Sounds like the whole retail / business leasing fiasco is on Radio4 again...
Wrong thread - this important thread is now about discussing running in a car you'll never own, what type of fuel you should put in, whether you get an extra 4 litres at delivery, whether you can pick it up only when it's sunny, whether you can get 31 or 32mpg, and all the other important things about leasing a Golf R. Talk about how people have been totally ripped off and all you get are smug people telling you you're not a business (and I reckon some VWFS trolls trying to blame brokers) and other smug people boasting about how they spend a grand on a suit anyway so they don't care and that if you can't afford the extra £3000 you're being charged, possibly you shouldn't be on this forum.
Happy days!

And then you get the morons who come here to troll and take everything anybody says, albeit even in jest, seriously and personal. Funny old thing isn't it.
