Sounds like the whole retail / business leasing fiasco is on Radio4 again...
Wrong thread - this important thread is now about discussing running in a car you'll never own, what type of fuel you should put in, whether you get an extra 4 litres at delivery, whether you can pick it up only when it's sunny, whether you can get 31 or 32mpg, and all the other important things about leasing a Golf R. Talk about how people have been totally ripped off and all you get are smug people telling you you're not a business (and I reckon some VWFS trolls trying to blame brokers) and other smug people boasting about how they spend a grand on a suit anyway so they don't care and that if you can't afford the extra £3000 you're being charged, possibly you shouldn't be on this forum.
Happy days!
I'll say this about the thread, it's certainly well used, much more than onces for similar performance hatches.

Picked mine up this morning,
All I can say is wow. Totally different power delivery to my Mk5 (Which I knew would be the case). Makes my old S3 feel like a wheelbarrow.
I'd heard people say that the power delivery and experience is linear, Well... I disagree, the power is explosive, and in race it feels like a right hooligan. I've done 165 miles today in it, and I've loved every one. I expected the power to drop off top end, but it pulls and pulls up to where I had to stop myself.
Amazing car.
I told you that you would love it - its just amazzing - i'm at 600 miles and now use race mode all in regular bursts - upto 6k revs. So fast - anyone who gets in it just love it. ACC in eco does fab job of getting upto 34/35mpg too. But im averaging 25mpg sinse i got it overall - which isnt bad i dont think. All I can say is wow. Ive ordered the 5 door DSG in red.
Will get some more tonight/tomorrow!
edit: Also - I was saddened I didn't get Pretoria's (until it came), but in all honesty the Cadiz suit the red pretty damn well, so no complaints here at all!

I have been busy having a baby, well my missus has, but here is the latest radio4 update from last week:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04967j5
42mins in. Not very conclusive, but I have had an email off the VW UK director of sales who wants a chat with me. Obviously been a bit busy to arrange a call. Not really sure what I will gain from speaking to him though?

I've had a strange issue with tracking my order. When I got my order number I created a 'My Volkswagen' account to get texts, emails etc as it moves through the build. When I check progress (not that much is happening) via that account the car is correctly listed as a five door. But if I just go straight to the VW tracking website without logging in to the account it incorrectly shows it as a THREE door. Dealer (Phil) has been in touch with VW who are a bit mystified. But to be safe the car is being reordered into the same build slot.

39.2!!! no fair lol, so seriously - how you managing that all in race mode. You said all below 4.5k revs too, and what fuel you using?Maybe im not driving rite, maybe i'm doing the commute in eco and using higher revs in race when i have a blast, and i should try race all the time and use lower revs?!?!
