Forgot to post photos of "her" R....as mentioned, the standard 18s look stunning on the red cars. These cars are superb, very few things will keep up down a back road, especially when things get tight. Race mode is too firm for most UK roads.....better to go to the individual mode, setting DCC in comfort and steering in normal, everything else sport....wow....works brilliantly! Paint is chipping quite easily, a feature of most cars these days it would seem.
WOW! That looks really good with the 18", red really does suit the car.

I've gonna do some tests with fuel and mode, next tank full will be with 98 and see if i get any difference.
Cheers mate! just done it, 101 quid. Can't go wrong.

I'm on 98 RON Shell atm, Tesco 99 does better MPG, Everybody says that. Atm I'm getting 26 around town 40ish on motorway. Can't really moan. Got 256 miles from 40 quids worth of 98.

OK lets just say I bought an R outright, kept it in immaculate condition (10,000 miles, base model) How much do you reckon it would be worth in two years time? (sold privately)

If I said £20,000 would you agree?

The reason why I ask, DriveTheDeal are offering the basic 5 door / 3 door for £26,729

There also a PCP option (via DTD) which I also didn't think was to bad tbh v

VW is offering PCP finance at 7.3% APR Representative (7% APR Representative on GTi & R models) over 18 to 48 months with a 5% minimum deposit. Terms and conditions apply. The dealer that we put you in touch with will arrange the finance if required. Subject to Status. Written quote available on request.

Its what I had planned to do, the trouble is DtD's dealer doesn't agree the PCP GFV's that appear on the VWFS website (it used to be £22k+ but has since decreased) so it means the monthly cost may be a bit more than you'd expect. I got an inital price on PCP from Phil but I never did get a revised quote since the GFVs were dropped. Still probably the best way of buying an 'R IMO and gives you options at the end of the term.

Thanks rix, Interesting... I take it the GFV has fallen in anticipation of the 2500 or so 'dodgy' orders? Shouldn't that in theory now rise again, baring in mind over 3/4's of the orders have now been cancelled?

Central vehicle leasing uk, sole trader status though.... Included servicing but not tyres. Ordered on the 2nd of June, so got processed pretty quickly by them.

They had a very similar deal through Arval for personnel leases, was only a few quid more.
