It's £225 a month including for 5k. But you need to be a company director or in receipt of company car allowance so it's not really PCH.
What is the excess mileage on that?
It wouldn't just be excess mileage to worry about if you did more than 5k per annum on a 5k deal...
What else would there be to worry about? confused

The deal allows for fair wear and tear. Fair wear and tear on a 15,000 mile car is a lot different to that on a 30,000+ mile car.
So, if the finance company are expecting a 15k car back and end up with a 30k car, you could be looking at charges for paintwork etc...

I can't see that, it must be covered by the excess mileage, as you would have paid for those extra miles - there is a break even point, and I'm sure if you did 30k miles on a 15k mile lease, the finance company would have made much more money than if you had gone for a 30k lease initially?

Fortunately not. I do 20k miles a year and it was much cheaper to take a 5k lease and add excess mileage than take out a 20k lease.

Was that with VWFS though? It seems that they have a nice low PPM excess - the alternative deals offered have been much higher, which is why it wasn't worth me taking any of them.

Hi Guys
Glad to hear there's a problem with VW's order tracker! My order (tornado red, 3dr, leather, nav) went in on 23rd June. According to the tracker its still 'with the factory' but my dealer says build is 'beginning Aug'. That should be the week after next. What happened to German efficiency in the admin dept!! I did take one out for a drive a couple or weeks ago - what a blast!!
Anyone got a red three door with standard wheels - would love to see some photos.

That's odd because mine been updating inline with what the dealer has been telling me? Maybe pre build cars only are effected?

My tracker stayed on stage 1 for about six weeks despite the dealers screen showing different.

I think someone just posted a red 3dr with photos a page or two ago - have a look!

Has anyone seen the video of a 6R with (supposedly) a stage 2 Revo running 330bhp, vs a standard 7R running 296/300bhp? The 7 kills it!

Good luck when you return a car with 60,000 miles when they are expecting one with 15,000 miles on it....

I was told that after the first year of my 2 year contract that there is a review which requires you to provide the mileage - if this was showing a higher level than that initially agreed then the rental for the 2nd year would be increased to the current rate for that annual mileage.

No idea whether this is in the agreement as I won't have reason to check it, hut some of you might want to see if there is any truth in it.

It's funny. Headline figures are still pretty special but what most people are noticing is once you start specing the car it becomes expensive.

the 'original' leasegate deals were around £220inc vat per month for a 3 door manual solid paint R with 5000miles p/a over 2 years.

We are still around that price now, its just people want the dsg box which adds around £50 to the monthly figure. Want satvav? thats another £30 ish, want leather? another £50. Now we have a car thats £350 a month and no longer a bargain in some peoples eyes.

My understanding is that what ever options you choose you will pay for, in full during the term of lease which seems a little unfair.

example - discover nav - £700 option if you were buying, or adds £30 a month to the lease - (23x30=700)

I needed 5 door, i wanted the security of full maintenance and i really wanted auto but thats the only things ive gone for, which brings me to £295a month inc vat which is personally as much as i could bring myself to paying - regardless of how much the car is worth.

As i say, the £220 PCH deals are still out there with phil - if you don't mind a 3 door manual red golf with no options.

Pretty much. The deals haven't really changed much as above, its just if you want some sort of spec then it'll go up regardless.

All options iirc are direct cost as above also.

Waiting for Phil to get back and see what I could get - ideally £250 a month would suit me at 8k miles... I could settle for Red but wouldn't mind something else - I think I can live with manual as well....still a lot of money to pay out for 2 years for a having a lovely car but we will do what we want to do smile

So the concensus is that Phil gives the best prices and potentially the National Vehicle Solutions deal that they are about to pull are the best at the mo for bog standard.
