Lease on Golf R

Don't know if it's been sold already but the Golf R order I cancelled is still going through production by the dealer. Just hit step 5 of 7 this morning so if anyone wants a Lapis Blue 3dr, with DSG and Discovery Pro let me know and I'll forward details of the dealer.

Just spoke to Phil for a chat / update. He advises that the order tracking on VWs website for ALL Golfs (not just Rs) has mistakenly been reset to stage 1

So, don't panic if you check on your order progress - he expects it will all be corrected by the end of this week and your actual order / build / delivery should not be affected.

Mine is still showing as stage 2 so maybe thats a good thing, maybe its a bad thing.. dunno..

I still haven't had the lease paperwork to sign either. Being the huge optimist i expect someone to turn round in a few weeks and say they can no longer offer the deal and i lose out. :-/

I had my stage 6 "again" today..... 5 days after I first received it... So I think something is amiss

Hi guys, this is my first list, but I've been watching for 130 pages! Stop checking your order everyday! It doesn't make it come any quicker! If your worried if you have a good deal, then don't check! I only want to know/see when ppl have got their car! If you want info on deals then phis; like the rest of us! Nothing comes for free

Rhys & Bonty - are you guys still around?

Mine was delivered this morning with 1/3 a tank of gas. I ran it almost til the red and have filled up with v- power nitro. How are you guys averaging around 40mpg?!? I'm averaging 26.8mpg - that's not in race mode!!

On the plus side, wow! What an incredible machine. More so than I remember from the test drive. Brutally savage acceleration when foot to the floor, yet a refined and relaxing cruiser when pottering around. Brilliant!

First few miles (500 or so) will be real low mpg, mines starting to go up now, hitting mid 30's on a run now

Well, he told me that all orders will be shown as stage 1 in an error from someone pushing the wrong button in Munich. Mine is still showing stage 2 at the moment but he said it will show as stage 1, along with all Golf orders.
The "should" was my phrasing: Phil said it was purely a glitch and orders were not affected.
Hope that clarifies.

I'm here mate!! Beauts aren't they? I've done 488 miles now, and my overall average is like 38.4? I don't drive it that steadily either, and she's not left sport since I picked her up!

Morning mate - yes still here
And yes it really is amazing. I've done about 800 miles now, so iv decided i'm fully run in -and have been for about 400 miles .
Since Ryhs said about not taking his out of Race mode, i've done the same and my economy has gone up, i now get 37mpg on avg to and from work every day which is all B roads and villages (great corners), and i'm only running on standard 97 super unleaded, its a trek for me to get something different. My next tank will be V+Nitro, and will see what difference that makes. My overall avg is only at abt 31-32, but thats cos i spent the first 400 miles testing different fuels and flying around like a nut case showing it to everyone i knew. I do think Race mode is better for economy than Eco.
Keep us posted mate on how you are finding it.

Oh and i have noticed that its gets proper bug splatted too, its gonnna be a nightmare to keep clean!!

I got my second stage 2 text this morning.

Dealer called and said my build week has moved forward from what it was at.
