To throw more into the mix, my friend and I did some tests vs his 335d X-drive. He has slightly quicker launches, however mid-range is identical, and then I pull away at the top end. Completely different cars, but similar power, so depends on circumstances .
No surprise there other than the Golf losing the start. With all that diesel torque in the 335d would have thought he'd bog it down. Hi performance diesels are phenominal these days, especially the BMW variants. easily give a not that old performance petrol a good run for their money. Shame they all run out of puff at about 5000rpm.If price wasn't an issue, I'd have the 335d XD over my M135i or Golf R.

Be interested if anyone has had a recent PCH quote from Phil. Left a message and email to see if he can better Leaseplan.

Couple quid cheaper if anything, by what I got a couple of weeks ago The initial orders with Phil are on track, buy that i mean orders confirmed around June/July 1st week. They are all on schedule for around Week 36-Week 38 completion no changes. It was only after this that orders have been given these delay notifications. I hope it gets resolved soon for all concerned

I don't get all these delays, mine has taken under 8 weeks from order to be at the dealers..... and i didn't have a cancelled order or anything.
I'd guess it is all part of their plan to shake a few more people out of the tree by giving them a reason to cancel.Maybe me just being cynical.
