Nice non bias opinion, I'm a huge BMW fan. But having had the R32 mk4 and mk5, the 7 is a breath of fresh air, it's hugely refined in comparison, does it make it a better/worse car? probably not. I like that it's not ostentatious and it's stealthy, same for the 135i. The Blue LED Angel eyes give them away, only 1'er with them as far as I'm aware. Both great cars, I'd be happy with either or. Love my golf, it's been a pleasure thus far.
May be minor, but my R is much better fuel wise on V Power than momentum.
Cheers.
Now you've only gone and opened up the 'what fuel should I use?' debate haven't you!?!?May be minor, but my R is much better fuel wise on V Power than momentum.

My mapped vxr pinks a bit with v-power, but then again it was mapped when it had tesco99 in it so maybe that proves v-power is better?

LOL - well the R is premium fuel only so normal vs special is a non-debate. As to who does the best super on the other hand...

I'm just using regular unleaded in the M135. Yes, I might lose 5% of power compared to putting 99ron in but that only takes me down to 300bhp. Might help you guys keep up My mapped vxr pinks a bit with v-power, but then again it was mapped when it had tesco99 in it so maybe that proves v-power is better?
For those of us who got screwed over with the super cheap Golf R deals and couldn't bring ourselves to pay an extra £50 a month for exactly the same car, I thought this may be of interest:

Ok, it's not as nice as the Golf, and it's not as fast or 4WD, but it is a rapid car, and it is 10k miles per year.
I am not sure if this is the face-lifted one or just a way to move on the current shape, but a guy at work has one and loves it.
Oh and just noticed this deal includes Metallic or frozen white paint.

I didn't think BMW had a status these days. Not like 20 years ago.
I think the only distinction these days is between French and not French.
Certainly wouldn't buy a French car. All seem rather lacklustre and more fashion led than performance led. My 'likes' list is generally Teutonic in nature - BMW, MB, VAG, Porsche.I think the only distinction these days is between French and not French.
Barring VAG stuff, it's all proper RWD stuff which is a huge plus point for me. Yes, I know most average people don't even know what the difference is and that 70% of BMW drivers don't know they're RWD. This means BM are looking to introduce FWD in the future which is a shame given all the history they have in RWD.
As always, horses for courses but I know what I like.

the right badge on the front (yes, I'm a snob).
Maybe not the best snob to be fair, it's still a 1 series with a nice sticky on badge. Edited by new666uk on Monday 4th August 16:35
I would probably take the 1'er if these were offered at the same lease price.
A second hand Porsche Boxster 3.2S was on the cards briefly but I was concerned about service and maintenance cost. A nice MB C350 Sport came up at a local dealer but felt a bit too 'grown up' for me.
As for real exotica, I'll have to wait until I can have a weekend car instead of just a daily driver.

I should hope you are quicker - 3.0 and a turbo to make 300bhp.VW are doing that with a 2.0
Must be a reason you're 5 miles to the gallon worse off for the same power
I'm still wrangling with VWFS, VW and my broker. It's taking a lot of work, but finally getting closer to the truth as to why this happened. Everyone is a bit to blame, that's clear, but one party took my personal application and entered it into the system as a Sole Trader.
Watch this space. In the meantime, the car is one it's way to the UK - hopefully I get the contract sorted just in time to pick it up.

How did you avoid them cancelling your contract as soon as the st hit the fan which is what most brokers did?Watch this space. In the meantime, the car is one it's way to the UK - hopefully I get the contract sorted just in time to pick it up.
I didn't actually realise people were made to cancel. i got a call from VW asking me if I was going ahead or could they cancel it - they got a clear instruction not to cancel until my compaint had been fully investigated.
Without wanting to go over old ground, VWFS have been absolutely unable to justify increasing the prove £50+ for personal leases. I'm still in conversation with them.
