Personal vs Business.
is it possible to have 'a better personal rate if you can prove that you could use the car for business use on the odd occasion' but it still be a personal lease?
I was always under the impression, to meet Arvals lending criteria you had to prove you were able to re-claim business mileageis it possible to have 'a better personal rate if you can prove that you could use the car for business use on the odd occasion' but it still be a personal lease?
Another call today from Dave, he has followed up on my email and updated me regarding my order. It is still processing through, he has received all relevant copy's of my Paperwork which will be sent to VW nearer the time. Dave was unaware of the dealership contribution that had been agreed with Phil. If Phil promised a full tank of fuel for collection I would get this checked as that wasn't on the table, so I have opted for delivery. I am looking like a mid Nov delivery.

You really do think you're the bees knees don't you? Personally, I think you're partly responsible for the way all this has turned out.
How do you arrive at that conclusion? I am sure many will be interested to know..David
Luke, it was a VW salesman who originally contacted Radio 4 as he was pissed off that he couldn't sell Golf Rs on expensive PCP deals as his colleagues were selling business leases fraudulently to personal customers (boo hoo poor VW salesman)- I was interviewed way after VWFS started cancelling the deals - my main concern has always been whether my credit rating could be stuffed up by this fraudulent activity - it was never about me getting a cheap Golf R as I did not have the time or compulsion to pursue it any further, unlike Jamie who seems to have got a result.
VWFS' suggestion that the average car buyer (i.e. us) are not clever enough to make our own decisions about how we buy/lease our cars is frankly bks - the real reason to get us in the VW dealers is so they can sell us a more expensive PCP deal and probably a load of expensive GAP insurance and other options - I believe they are happy to offer PCH on other models - probably the less popular ones they are struggling to shift!
The attitude of VWFS reminds me very much of FIFA - as others have said, and I was always well aware of this - huge companies with lots of money don't really care, especially when all it means is a load of enthusiasts won't be getting cheap hot hatch deals - they will make a statement, and however much it stinks, they know the journalists will just move on to the next story.
However much I'd like a Golf R for a bargain price, it really is a first world problem - so no one is going to care much apart from us - I have already expended way too much time on it.
Just as a matter of interest : Does anyone actually know why the leasing / finance companies are asking for written proof of being able to re-claim business mileage from their employer?
Please note that in order to meet the lenders criteria all customers must either receive a car allowance, be able to re-claim business mileage or be a Director of a limited company, proof is required at point of application

No, this is not the case at all.Arval have traditionally only done Business leases, or Personal leases that require mileage, but this is not the case in these agreements.

The tracker is updated from the same system that CS use, so would tEll you exactly the same thing!
actually it is different, the system that the dealers and VW CS have give's more details including assigned customer name and Spec included. You may have received details from your dealer in a screenshot of what they see ...zayn said:

Just to get an idea of how things stand on date of order -v- actual delivery at the moment, could anyone who has just taken delivery or is just about to take delivery, please post when their order was actually placed (and through which supplier)?
(Yes, I am feeling a bit impatient, having ordered on June 20 and still on stage 2 on the tracker . ).

I ordered mine on 30 April through LeasePlanGo and it was delivered on 6 August (would have been two-three weeks earlier but I was on holiday and then waited for delivery rather than picking up from the dealer). This was a basic manual 5dr in Lapiz Blue - no other extras.(Yes, I am feeling a bit impatient, having ordered on June 20 and still on stage 2 on the tracker . ).
First order with CVL: Ordered 09/06/14 car is due to be built week commencing 31/08/14
Second order with Phil (RIP): 01/07/14 car was due to be built on week commencing 21/07/14, build started on 25/07/14 and changed to stage 5 (in transit) on 14/08/14. Not long to wait!!!!!!
I can pass on my CVL number if people wish and you can ring VW Telford and try and take the order. Its a 3dr DSG in Lapis.
