Business lease I'd say no. The guy delivered it on the transporter and it was dirty, I think it had been parked up and not cleaned again after I said to wait another week til the new plates came out. Also there were dried in muddy marks on the drivers mat! They had left a new set of mats though.
Love the car though, looks great with the lapis in the sun, and the prets look superb. Looks even better now that I've washed it!
As long as they get it sorted for you quickly. Your probably not going to be the only one underwhelmed. The majority of R's that have been leased are the basic spec manual. In two years time i expect the 2nd hand market filled with these, unfortunately any option you spec on a lease is additional cost which most could not justify over 2 years..

Can someone explain the whole business use thing to me and what was happening?
Were PAYE employees pretending to be business users? How did they convince the finance company? If so, I take it instead of paying say £300 + VAT, they would just pay the £300. What happens to the VAT element, who pays that and would this require tax returns/accountants etc?
For example, I am a PAYE employee but occasionally I can use my car for business mileage claiming back 45p per mile back in expenses through my employer. Perhaps 2-3 times a year. This wouldn't qualify me to a business use deal would it?
What exactly has happened in this case with the Golf R? Just interested to know for the future should I lease my next car, I've always paid cash or used PCP.

I plan to do all my allotted 20,00 miles in race mode.

As you say, if you got a good lease deal then you can't go wrong.

Just a note to say, my mate was talking out his behind. I checked his paperwork today and turns out he has only got the 3dr manual + Metallic for the £199+vat price. The DSG and Prets were another 40 quid on top. I knew it was too good a deal to be true.

2 different types of lease deal, business or personal. Business requires the accounts etc (they were the really cheap deals). Some personal deals require proof of business mileage etc, some don't. Personal deals are more expensive. I just wish they'd drop the + VAT bit, we all have to pay it so why not just include it?

Today I feel happier with the purchase. It is very fast and comfy. I guess I was expecting more from all the hype. It is a very nice place to be.As you say, if you got a good lease deal then you can't go wrong.
Can anyone advise ho long i should have to wait if my car has arrived in the UK? It said that the car is usually with the dealer within 10 days, but what is the turnaround from then? The dealer hasn't been in touch and i don't really want to bother them, if there is a protocol, but expected to have to sign the Arval agreement by now.
