Ok - you need the cable with the red collar, not blue. I am using an iPhone 4S and it works! For those that have one on order, my god it is worth waiting for - it is so effortlessly rapid!

Anybody having any trouble with the iPhone 5s connection, ie it's sometimes just not playing and other times you plug it in and it plays with no further action needed. It's showing the artwork but when I press play it does nothing?

Yeah sometime i have to reconnect the cable, or select source on the screen and re-select the ipod option, seems to refresh it. It appears to happen when it trys to bluetooth to the phone and gets confused, try connecting the phone before you put the keys in the ignition.

Build week 41 confirmed over phone. Should be updated on my tracker next week.
So just another 2 months to wait! Middle to End of November delivery if the 14 day cool off is applied.

Hi Guys

Quick question please, Once you've agreed a deal, what did you then have to sign? Is it just the Vehicle order form? Only I've also been sent the full 20 page hire agreement, I take it I shouldn't sign that until the vehicle is ready to be be delivered?

Cheers

Has anyone managed to find a better deal than the one currently offered by NVS?

23 x 225.98 = 5197.54 + 1800 = 6997.54 + 180 = 7177.54

PCH / base spec / 5000 mpa / 24 months

Note : requires letter from employer to say any business miles will be reimbursed
This is the deal I went for, except it up'ed the mileage to 10k pa.

I got my manager at work to write a letter saying that "when I use my car for business reasons, I can claim back the mileage/expenses". I also attached the expenses form which i'd fill in, as it has more info for them. They were fine with that. The truth of the matter is, I rarely have claim mileage back.

All I signed was a proposal form and an order form at the beginning. Then before I got the car, it was the rental agreement (two signatures) and proofs of ID to be sent off.

The car was delivered and I signed a form about damage and that was it. Was a simple process.

Thanks Jamie, just been on to the finance company and there insisting I sign the 20 page hire agreement (in approximately five places) before they will order the vehicle... I then asked about the cooling off period? That apparently would start on the day the order was confirmed. So I then said what happens if the delivery is put back two months? 'You can cancel' was the reply, yeah right!

Is it a cancelled order you are picking up?

What was delivery timescales given?

I've been told, that i won't get finance documentation until the car has arrived at the dealers.

Ordered direct from the factory, lead time quoted : late November / early December (which I find is rather optimistic)

Company : Arval

Hi guys,

Is the NVS deal still the best for personal leasing? Anyone used them? When do you think delivery time might be?

I went to VW Stoke yesterday to get a quote....they don't do personal lease but a PCP type deal...

Basically for a white poverty spec with 5k they wanted 1500 deposit and 365pm.... Crazy money!!!!

Any help appreciated, I've almost persuaded the missus now and our loan finishes by December so ready for our next car!

Personally I've done 3700 miles since December in my current car. Do I need a brand new car, nope not at all, do I want a brand new R, hell yes.

I do suspect a large percentage of those with a 5k limit will exceed it. Many of the deals had an excess pence per mile cost so cheap the maths didn't work out to take a higher mileage deal. Obviously you do have to put the money away each month or prepare yourself for a big lump at the end.

There was mention a few pages back of the lease company checking the mileage mid term (probably when serviced) and then adjusting the monthly cost accordingly, will this happen in reality - who knows??
In the contract I signed with VW it just states 7.2p per mile for any additional mile above 10k up to 99,999 miles within the two years. There is no checking or recalculation of monthly payments, that's just people talking out of their backsides
I wouldn't be so sure...

Copied from Arvals hire agreement :

2.1.6 : If, at any time during the Contract Term, the mileage of the Vehicle is greater than its Contract Mileage (pro rata) by more than 20%, ARVAL reserve the right to amend the Contract Term, Contract Mileage and Rental.

Its dependent on your finance company.

VW finance dont have a stipulation.

Arval obviously do have such terms so it is better to be realistic with your mileage.

I went through a lease company then dealt directly with VWFS, I personally wouldn't sign the Arval agreement, to open ended and risky.

I ordered a back in June after finding this forum and R Forums really helpful in getting the best deal. I went through Drive The Deal, they currently show as getting a £3745 discount through the dealer they are using, if you put down the minimum £1500 deposit then using VW's own calculator https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/financeCalculator/cho... your payments should work out about £260 per month on a PCP 36 month contract at 5k miles per year (7.2ppm excess mileage). Much better than £365/month.

I suspect that these long build times are not to try and persuade people to cancel their order, but more to make sure that in two years time there is a slow release of second-hand Golf Rs onto the market, and not one huge dump - another way of controlling residuals.

To be honest, 4-5 month build times are quite short compared to other marques.

Range Rover Evoque had a 12 month lead time when launched.
BMW Mini had 6 month lead times.
Audi a3 saloon has 6 month lead times.
