Or better still :

23 x 204 4692
1800 + 4692 + 199 = 6691

Tornado Red
5 Door
Manual
10000 mpa
7p excess
Is that the HUKD one? I've not done any sums or had chance to put all these figures in my spreadsheet yet to compare.
Never mind that, just get signed up biggrin

Anyone that has their current dealer through inchape Cheltenhaminchape/Arval going to give them a call? I was pretty happy with my 1x 1677 23x276 deal but seeing these emails coming through is making me unsettled - do you think we will be able to get a better deal?

Just had an email from Solent leasing advising 10k miles, 2000+vat down and 148.99+vat per month. Delivery Feb/Mar.
I gave Dave a call in the morning. He said that he's already done one set of figures for someone that came out more expensive than the new deals. He's going to have a look at the orders they've currently got, see if they can transfer them to VW direct and also see if he can calculate the new costs.

Worth giving him a call if you're unsettled, what's the worst that could happen?

Be careful with the tuning box on contract, the golf ECU can tell VW if it has been altered even if the box isn't plugged in.
Zoon

As I understand, the tuning boxes are untraceable and do not change the flash count or trigger the TD1 if interrogated, so long as the box is disconnected when visiting a dealer.

This is the opposite to a remap of course.

David
If VW have gone the same way as Audi, which you'd expect them to, they don't just look at the ECU they look at values registered on sensors in things like the gearbox to see if torque limits have been exceeded. Obviously if it's been mapped/chipped and the limits are close to what the vehicle is designed to take in standard form, a map might flag an over-torque event. I'm aware of RS3s in particular with maps where they've been 'black flagged' for warranty work

all the values of the original map have corresponding readings from the sensors.

i.e., if the fuel flow is factory set to 0.79 you would expect to see that value recorded from the sensors.

if the fuel flow sensor picks up 0.99 it will log it.

times that by 35 odd parameters that get changed during a map i would imagine it would be pretty easy to work out if a factory car has ever been mapped, even if the parameters are back to OEM when it goes in.

Are these deals cheaper than the original (and famous) VWFS deals?

I think they were £169 + Vat (well i think i was quoted £218 inc VAT for a white car with 6x upfront but only 5k miles)

My original deal worked out around £6300.00 base spec 5kpa (but then cancelled by VWFS)

My latest deal is £6690.00 base spec 10kpa

A difference of £390.00

But then if you take the extra 10000 free miles x 7p = £700.00

I'm actually £310.00 better off

I spoke to David from Inchcape, for me its swings and roundabouts with the new deals - the Arval deal is still pretty competitive - the new VW deal is only slightly better. Give him a call - to anyone wanting to put in a new order they'll have a new batch of Golf Rs coming in January that are currently unallocated.

For those existing customers, they're working their way through the list to see whether the new VW deal is any better and you'll hear from them over the next few days or so.

Eeek!!!

I've just ordered. 5 door manual in limestone grey!

Can't wait!

Now I have to prep my car for sale come feb or march. It's a convertible so probably the best time to sell it in the spring.

If the VW deal is better, did you not go for it?

Considering you get to keep your ordered car, I don't see the negative in switching? Granted, I'm still waiting for Inchcape to get back to me with what the VW offer would be.

Basically, you must either receive a car allowance, be able to re-claim business mileage or be a Director of a limited company.

Thanks for the link btw
I can claim 45p per mile for business mileage at work but don't receive a car allowance I also get given a hire car when I need to travel

Does this mean I could get this deal as my contract states I get paid business milleage

Thanks

This might put the cat amongst the pigeons but Volkswagen have today announced that they are relaxing the Contract Hire rules....The PCH product has been shelved and there is now only a Contract Hire product but this is available to private individuals. Proof of business is no longer needed and they can propose in individual names rather than t/as names.

Quote "There is a small market for RETAIL customers who want to lease rather than buy" & "Therefore proof of business is no longer required"

I wonder if the bad press has anything to do with this?

Some dealers may be reluctant to quote due to the uncertainty over these changes, but this product is available to private individuals and your local dealer will be able to supply and quote.

Quotes on a 5dr manual (6+23 CH) - Non maintained
5k to 10k per annum = £206.68 per month + VAT
11k per annum = £213.55 per month + VAT
12k per annum = £220.77 per month + VAT

Where did you get this information from? If this is the case, it could explain the cheap lease deals available now for the Golf R, and how I have be assured that I do not need to provide any proof of car allowance etc.

Basically, you must either receive a car allowance, be able to re-claim business mileage or be a Director of a limited company

This is now not required with these latest cheap deals

I am fine either way then

fk I am tempted I must admit what is the lead time?

My Golf GTI Mk4 does about 27mpg what will this expect more like 35mpg?

Thats £50 a month saved then another £25 in the tax

So could sell Golf for deposit and only really costing me £125 a month out of my packet if apply man maths...

Am I correct in thinking that you don't need maintenance plans on these with a two year lease and 8K per annum? As the service intervals are 2 years/20000 miles?

You will need at least 1x service, they need to be serviced before they go back (according the inchcape).
Also, deposit goes down around the time you collect the car.

Sure....

I haven't private leased before so don't know what they are like to deal with, reviews on the web seem fairly favourable and they were helpful (advising me to pay excess mileage on a 10k pa deal rather than take out a 15k pa deal)

The DSG is frustratingly £70 a month more
Think I may have to ring up and order one of these at the price
fk it I am 22 and live at home so have the disposable income may as well do it whilst I can!
