Deals are great. I've just been quoted and ordered today on PCH a Golf R 5-Door, DSG, Limestone Grey Metallic, 12k mpa, £287 p.m. including VAT on 6+23 profile. Might not be the cheapest, but it is with a large reputable leasing company I trust and a admin fee is low at £199.
Delivery 20+weeks (at the moment!), which is fine for me as current lease expires March 2015.
Grab them whilst you can

I managed to get a deal that was slightly cheaper than all those advertised by playing one company off against another...
I have got 5dr manual in limestone grey (met paint option - the only extra) for
2000+vat initial with doc fee = £2400 inc vat
149.99+vat rent x 23 = 4139.72 inc vat
21+vat (metallic upgrade) x 23 = 579 inc vat
TOTAL - £7118.72...
If anyone can find it cheaper let me know but I can't

Generally speaking what are these lease companies claiming for delivery times at the moment? I'm not sure if to hold out for a March (15 plate) delivery.
Also, with the deposit and first payment are taken around delivery or deposit first when you order then the first payment a month after delivery? How has it happened for you guys that have taken delivery/ordered so far?
Any help would be great! Thank you.

The Meister which company is that through
Freedom Contracts. I always lease now; PCPs are expensive in comparison. My local VW Dealer hadn't even heard of the VWFS PCH option! Their finance manager asked me, yes me, to bring in the details and prove it was available! Edited by The Meister on Friday 3rd October 08:12

Think im going to stick with my original deal (comes in Dec) which is £6200 over the 2 years.
The Central deal looks like its a 14/23 (14 payments down) so massive deposit to give the impression of a reduced monthly....still comes in at 6700 over the 2 years. But still good if you haven't secured the original VWFS deal.

How is this possible again after what has happened?
It could be because me and Jamie went on radio4 to moan about our first world cheap hot hatch problem and now VW have been told the rules say they are not allowed to offer different deals to business and personal deals.Or it could be the fact VW are 1000 sales behind target since August.
Whatever it is - they are potentially the hot hatch bargain of the century - especially if the insurance stays super cheap thanks to the front radar sensor.

I would have taken it further had they not backed down. Their mistake was stating that personal customers COULD NOT have the business deal. It's one thing marketing it as a deal suited for business and try steer personal customers away, but another to refuse with no real justification - part from milking retail customers. When I pressed the VWFS guy, he didn't have a leg to stand on.
We'll never know what spurred this on, but at least they are now trying to mitigate the damage they inflicted on their brand and sales. This is a niche product that is unlikely to steal sales from other models. I'd never have bought another model (except possibly the GTD because that was on super cheap at one point) if I hadn't gotten this deal.
