Lease on Golf R
Discussion
I am with admiral too and called them as wanted to make sure in principle they are not difficult about me not owning the car etc etc.
They were fine with it and my premium dropped £50 too.
The R's radar crash thingy in the front bumper makes a big difference apparently.
Reading elsewhere on here though when you get your R check with your insurance company if they provide a new car in the first year if its written off or stolen as if they do and you buy gap insurance it can cause issues. Read here

I don't think any leased cars would be replaced in the first year of insurance if lost or written-off as the insurance policy states that option will only be considered if the policyholder is the both the owner and registered keeper - neither is the case on these deals.
Buy the correct GAP (for contract hire) - its less than £100 for peace of mind with £15k cover.

ok that makes a difference. How do you know how much cover to have?
Is it by looking at new car cost (30k) and residual after 24 months (15k) for example and getting cover for the difference so 15k of cover?
If you do write it off/stolen do you know what happens to the rentals and having to pay 50% of them also.
Cant find a definitive answer?

I don't but £15k cover is plenty and only £4 more than £10k so worth the peace of mind.Is it by looking at new car cost (30k) and residual after 24 months (15k) for example and getting cover for the difference so 15k of cover?

If the insurance settlement does not cover the value in the finance company's books, the GAP will makeup the shortfall which should then mean you won't have to carry on paying rentals even with no car to use!

What was your build week?
Did you get a text during your build week saying build was in progress?
I'm bw41 but not had a stage 4 text yet.
I was build week 40 and received an e-mail on the Monday to confirm it had moved to that stage. The tracker can be a pain in the arse though, might want to call VW to double check. Did you get a text during your build week saying build was in progress?

Too soon in the cars life to get leather. Usually the big additions/exclusions happen between model years rather than mid year.
I think the only addition to the ordering is the option of dyna audio to the option list and possibly deletion of one of the paint colours.
Agreed. I have been told by a VW dealer its likely to be Dynaudio only that is added.I think the only addition to the ordering is the option of dyna audio to the option list and possibly deletion of one of the paint colours.

I'm almost certain I am going to order a Golf R for the wife. 5 door manual Laipz Blue.
Who has the quickest lead times, or they all well into 2015 delivery time now?
