I'm almost certain I am going to order a Golf R for the wife. 5 door manual Laipz Blue.
Who has the quickest lead times, or they all well into 2015 delivery time now?
should all be the same unless someone has a cancelled order coming through. About 6 months wait now.Who has the quickest lead times, or they all well into 2015 delivery time now?

Are people getting these mainly because the deal is so fantastic that it has swung them to getting this (very good) car that they may not previously considered.
I ordered purely on price. Yes it's a very good car but I can't say I'm that excited by it. It's like a pair of Hunter wellies: you know it'll do the job perfectly but you're not going to get erect about the prospect of wearing them.I have ordered finally. The talk of capacity (or lack of it) at the factory got me worried about waiting any longer.
I have gone through Park vehicles, who are a part of the Johnson's group with 4 VW garages in the Midlands, so seem OK. Any body got any experience of them?
I am paying £226 on a 6+23, 10k p/a with no admin fee, so £6577 in total (Standard spec).
I have been given my VW order number to track straight away, so does that mean I've defiantly got a slot at the factory?

someone said earlier that the leather upgrade was BS, ive nothing to confirm or deny that though!!!
I can't see that happening. But interesting to see how rumours spread. Have seen this in so many places. Almost as many as I have seen testimony that it is total guff.If they do it I am so happy I am BW44 as leather is a total pain. Just not for me.

Not sure if anyone has done it, but how much does the Blue metallic ( I forget the name of it) and the 19" alloys add to it?
I have one, it's lapis blue, although I don't know what that adds as metallic paint was chucked in, the price went up by £27 a month when I added the wheels. This was the first deals. IMO it's worth it as I have passed one without them and I really don't like the Cadiz wheels, but its personal preference. joewl said:

The slot won't be confirmed for a while (few months sadly), but you'll have an estimate yeah .I have gone through Park vehicles, who are a part of the Johnson's group with 4 VW garages in the Midlands, so seem OK. Any body got any experience of them?

Same here. Its only a chuffing Golf after all.
yeh, in the same way that the lotus carlton was only a carlton.I mean, why would you bother?
I got excited when I bought my Lotus Elise, my VXT and my Megablade. But not my Golf R or Audi S4.

Not sure I follow? Is the Golf R a Lotus Golf?

i am sorry that buying some shiny new cars doesn't excite you - are you emotionally stumped?

When I bought my 123d I thought I was excited (I was probably excited because I thought I should be) but when I bought my Evo I was like a 6year old on Xmas morning Genuine excitement. I can't see the Golf giving me that feeling... But for 6.7k over 2years :P who cares
I contacted CVL (centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk) today and they have stopped taking orders now, apparently due to lead times given numbers of orders taken.
I am looking at Freedom (www.freedomcontracts.com) with a quote currently approved for:
9 + 23 £2k upfront and £233 a month for 5dr in Lapis Blue and Winter Pack.
Anyone used them before are they decent? before I sign up wondering whether it makes more sense to try local VW dealers to see if they would get close?
I am worried that due to demand even the March lead times will be delayed and if via VW in some way it may be more realistic for March?

If some leasing companies are not taking orders that says that delivery is highly unlikely any time soon, i was quoted March today so decided 5.5 months is too long a time to wait, need to move on...I am looking at Freedom (www.freedomcontracts.com) with a quote currently approved for:

Maybe I'm just weird then.
But having a brand new, shiny car which is the top of the range, with loads of toys I've never had in a car before, along with the first auto I've ever had, along with the most powerful engine I've ever had + with decent traction is enough for me to have wet pants for the weeks leading up to its arrival.
Even if it was a fiesta 1.1 ecoboost, buying a new new car should be exciting for everyone otherwise whats the friggin' point of working hard?

Ive owned an e46 M3, 2 Subaru STIs, a golf GTI amongst many cars and i am like a kid in a candy shop. A 300bhp 4wd beast with loads of toys! whats not to get excited about?
Sorry if you don't get excited then buy something else.
