Deals will be pulled at the end of the Month, get in now before 1/11/14 price increase.
Quotes emailed to VW dealer for approval by VW head office, whole process took about an hour.
19's do look best, but live in Dorset with shocking road surfaces so 18's it is.
Have you heard the 01/11/12 cut-off date from VW?Quotes emailed to VW dealer for approval by VW head office, whole process took about an hour.

I've never leased before but even allowing for discount on a new car I can't see this being beaten in terms the depreciation etc on a new car or even on a second hand car for that matter. Our other car is a very low mileage 10 year old X5 which we're happy to keep but it's on a BMW warranty and if I add that, tax, likely servicing costs etc it works out that the X5 would have to depreciate less than about £1,900 pa over the period for it to be better and that ignores the potential to invest the X5 sales proceeds.
Is there a catch? How tough are dealers on return condition? If it's a two year lease and 2 year service interval would I pay for a service? I look after my cars but just am new to this so want to go in with my eyes open.
In the same boat here, got 330 that is paid for but factor is depreciation, servicing, MOT's, Road Tax, general wear and tear/tyres plus investing sale proceeds and offsetting a % of Lease payments as business expense (sole trader)and its a case of finding a reason not to to do t as opposed to anything else...Is there a catch? I've never leased before either - what are the potential pitfalls? I know somebody who collects lease cars at the end of the term and I have heard of people getting slapped with charges at the end of the lease but I suspect a lot don't take of the car whilst its in their custody.
I plan on visiting the local stealer this week but want to be armed with as much info as possible.

Hi All,
I have contacted my local VW dealer and been offered the following for a 5 door DSG model:
2000 deposit excluding vat
175.99 x23 excluding vat
Is this a good deal or should I expect a better deal from a VW dealer?
Thanks

I am now considering looking at a Golf R - 5door with DSG - and I have a few queries:
1) Can I put my private plate onto the vehicle?
2) When sorting out the figures with whichever provider I contact, do you get (at the initial setup phase) a guaranteed future value for the car at the end of the lease period? i.e. "If you want to buy the car outright at the end of the lease then that would be £XX,XXX"?
Ta!
I have a private plate but decided it was going to be a pain in the arse to put it on through the lease co, so didn't bother. I think they add on admin fees of there own etc1) Can I put my private plate onto the vehicle?

I was told I could buy the car at the end of the lease, but it would be current market value, and any payments made would have no effect on the price, as is the case with PCP, will be interested to see what "current market value" is in two years

Right, so car is due to be delivered on Thursday but seems as if insurance premiums have gone up since I last checked in July.
Any recommendations for insurers/brokers that would be willing to have a look? Have tried all the usual comparison websites and only Hastings offered a premium close to what several were offering in July - c. £600. Reading online though, reviews seem to be extremely negative and would rather not have any hassle should I have to claim as the car is leased.
Would prefer to deal with a broker rather than online comparison website and willing to pay a premium for their services.
Any suggestions?
Anyone, maybe? Best at the moment is Aviva with £875. Any recommendations for insurers/brokers that would be willing to have a look? Im paying £425 with tesco, other half as named driver, i have full NCB, i live in romford and i have 6 points. i don't think thats bad at all!
Bloody hell, that's good! I'm 26, have 3 years NCB, no points and live in north west London. I can't imagine the postcode alone is bringing the quote up by £450? Tesco for me (through an online comparison website) came in at £1,800. That was the cost of insuring my BMW when I first purchased it 4 years ago!The funniest thing is...I work for an insurance broker but we don't have any access to personal lines products! The two brokers recommended to me have come in at just under £2,000 and NFU Mutual came in at over £3,000!
Best quote i had was £300 but it had a £500 excess.
Lowest quote with a decent excess level was AXA at £400, excess £200.
37 yr old in glasgow, 3 pts, and 1 recent contents theft claim. 13 yr no claims.
If i had purchased car outright or via pcp then premiums would be significantly lower.
Luckily my current car insurer ESURE will continue cover on my existing car policy.
They dont normally cover lease cars (so they said) but got them to speak to the underwriter and it has been authorised. Getting a £10 refund too.
Got my stage 6 alert! Still not had finance documents through.
