SKM1984... I would be very careful if I were you.

You have broken the terms of your lease.

The lease company will not take too kindly that you have modified their car (Especially with a remap that leaves a TD1 code)

You've clearly bought a Golf R due to the cheap lease deals but if you don't wise up, it's going to end up costing you a fortune. Do you have £30k down the back of your sofa to compensate your lease company within the next 30 days? If not, I suggest you buck up your ideas.

Think about it for a minute here, VW are leasing these cars very very cheap. What's the catch? Where will they recoup money? Yep, that's right, on handover time in 2yrs.

It doesn't take the brains of Albert to work any of this out.

Jesus, so what?! It's his contract or own car, let him deal with the fall out if he has leased it, which he says he hasn't.

Grant, VW dealers definitely do PCH as I have placed an order with them this week and it has all gone through ok, the car is now at stage 2 so the deal is still active bit I believe the prices will be going up very soon.
Thanks lads, after phoning a slightly less local dealer, I've got an appointment to discuss options/figures on PCH deals and take an R for a test drive. smile

Cheers,
Grant

Hmm, who in their right mind would buy a Golf R when leasing is by far the cheapest option wink

In addition to that, you fail to see that people can view your post history. The specific posts you made in the leasing thread. Central Leasing wink

But okay, yeah I believe you.

Still the point stands. You have invalidated your own warranty and posted your registration online for VW to see.

Very clever.
Possibly he decided to cancel his lease, and buy instead, so he could mod it.....
Possibly.....

Be interested to hear how you get on Grant, I am considering a white 5-door DSG with 19's, keyless and winter pack.

Chill!

My car my money

I was originally going to lease and had ordered through cvl but it fell through due to the business lease issue, I walked into my local dealer and traded in this:

Again a new modified car

Yeah no problem Andy, I'll fire up the figures which he gives me bud.

The highest spec I will be getting quoted on is 3dr, DSG, Metallic, Winter Pack and 19s... so will be similar to your list price.

I have just had my offer confirmed and will be happy to share once I've slept on it and either gone ahead or not which will probably be tomorrow.
You'd be crazy not to tbh

Solid White + DSG

1 x 2400

23 x 209.35 = 4815.05

2400 + 4815.05 = 7215.05

Can't get anywhere near that deal and believe me I've tried...

That monthly £209.35 isn't inclusive of VAT is it??

I must have missed that post, who is that through?!

The initial large payment skews the monthlies but those prices will include vat.

I would say that March is optimistic unless they have some cars already on order. Current lead time is 30 weeks for new orders.

A bit of an update.

I obtained a copy of the lease agreement and it all seems fair enough.

I also read this regarding fair wear and tear which also seems fair enough and is useful to know in advance of entering into an agreement and for whilst the handback inspection is being conducted.

http://www.knowlesfleet.co.uk/Documents/FWT/lexFWT...

I have had it confirmed that long life servicing can be enabled so there is a choice of fixed or long life. I think that all things considered I would not opt for the maintenance plan.

However the main consideration for me is that we currently only need one car and whilst that might change at some point perhaps from late next summer, it would probably make sense for us to sell our current E53 X5. My reluctance in this respect is that it is in fabulous condition and has only covered 37,500 miles at 10 years old. I knew we didn't do a lot of mileage but have just checked and got a bit of a shock that we only covered about 5,500 miles total in the last year in both cars combined. So I know find myself having negotiated a cracking deal on a car I would really like to have but thinking it almost certainly doesn't make sense. I might seem stupid but what happened was I saw the deal in September, have since sold one car (our beloved SL60 AMG) and noticed the deal still being around. I thought we did about 10,000 miles total pa until checking today.

I'll decide for certain one way or the other later today after which I will be happy to pass on the contact details for the deal I have negotiated.

Does going through a local dealer matter to you that much, especially considering it's a lease and not a long term purchase?

If not, I think there are a few on here (myself included) which would be able to give you details of someone to chat to at various VW dealers who know of the PCH offers?
