That was really helpful - thank you RS Grant said:
Thanks lads, after phoning a slightly less local dealer, I've got an appointment to discuss options/figures on PCH deals and take an R for a test drive.
Ok, so took an R for a drive today... pretty bloody impressive, even got to have a go at launch control. Details of the car I got quoted on was:
3dr
Manual
Lapiz Blue (+535)
19" Pretoria Wheels (+895)
Winter Pack (+360)
Total: £31690
Details of the PCH quote:
24 Months
10k p/a
Initial Deposit (inc VAT) of: £2022.82
23 payments (inc VAT) of: £308.63 without maintenance or £331.44 including maintenance.
.....as you can see, a wee bit more than others on this have been able to get their R for. However, not sure how this compares to other VW dealerships??
Cheers,
Grant

I would say that March is optimistic unless they have some cars already on order. Current lead time is 30 weeks for new orders.
I'm getting manual and yesterday I enquired about dsg of If I could add it but the build not been any longer and he said he would get back to me, today came he got back to me and he said the build won't take any longer and March is still my date.. A lot of people's are March who have ordered in the last few week Just to add that he said the car purchase price increase won't necessarily result in an increase in lease prices. He has no idea how long this deal will be around. There will be a point where they will just end it.
I also have a blank agreement which I could scan and upload but it all seems pretty strightforward to me and fair enough. Basically if you keep up payments and return it in a condition in line with the guidelines I provided all should be fine. Oh and don't modify it :-)
Note that you can't take it abroad without permission however there is a request form available on the VW Finance website.

Ok to clarify
3 dr in white with DSG
£2,000 +VAT initial plus £172.13 +VAT x 23 = £7,150.79 total.
Maintenance and tyres is £27.77 +VAT pm extra
And I guess if you mention Dan put you onto it it might help me if I ever want to do a deal with him in future.

Hi,
VW dealer quoted me £1030 plus 23 X 345 for a metallic 3 door dsg with Dynaudio total is around £8,900. 8000 miles per year.
Or, red dsg 3 door without Dynaudio is £914 plus 23 x £300 total is around £7,906.
All including vat.
Thoughts? Seems to me there is room to improve on this.
Cheers

Only because of the options you've ticked - they're costing you £75pcm. These deals really become far less attractive if you tick the option boxes.I am waiting for a couple of dealers to get back to me tomorrow. I managed to speak to the dealer near to me. Phone was just ringing before. They have one I can look at. I wished I had popped in when I was in town earlier. Still have to wait on price but got a good feeling. Fingers crossed I might have signed myself a deal tomorrow.
Believe me it was a close call and very hard to walk away from but the reasons against are very compelling.
Until yesterday we owned a lovely SL60 AMG (about to be displayed at Mercedes Benz World in case of interest) and we have an X5 as a practical car. We currently only need one car due to a change in personal circumstances. I was attracted to this car and the man maths was suggesting that the running costs and decpreciation including warranty on the X5 would not be much less than this deal over 2 years. However although 10 years old, the X5 has only done 37,500 miles, has new tyres, a BMW warranty and is in splendid condition so we're reluctant to let it go. So I would have to sell it with all the hassle that entails plus at some point we will need another car. I've decided that it makes sense to keep the X5 for now then evaluate in due course. The X5 is great in many ways just not for driving for driving's sake.
It's probably just as well the sales guy was reluctant to give me a test drive on a car that had been reserved the other day or my decision might have been different after a 300hp hot hatch experience!

I'm interested in this and shall be contacting my local Derby dealer tomorrow.
Is the main dealer leasing / fleet available for personal leasing ?
Yes , just ask for personal contact hire but you're probably best asking for the fleet department. Probably best not to quote the specifics of the person and company whose deal I quoted in case it causes him any issues. Personally I'd just call JCT as he was very straight with me and forthcoming with answers to my many questions which was refreshing. Is the main dealer leasing / fleet available for personal leasing ?
