Black with red leather, DSG, 3 door, nav, bluetooth and standard wheels.

265 + VAT 24 month contract, £1500 deposit.

Nothing in stone, I just popped in and asked for a quote. Then I requested a revised quote and sales guy started being a div about it all, accusing me of running a rental company ffs(!)

Ask for an AMG, Porsche or BMW M car and eveything is fine. Wierd.
Hi who is this with? You can private message me if you wish, this is a very good deal!!
Huddersfield VW (Sytner I think?)

Prices are competitive vs the M135i and S3.

Do not like the waiting list of 4 months though!

I placed my order today,

Just went for base spec 3dr, man, tornado red.

I contemplated over the weekend whether to spec dsg having had semi auto vehicles with paddles previously. Also considered limestone grey but my other cars dark (met black) so went with the mrs choice of solid red. In the end I think I'm happy keeping it as a performance bargain. Who needs extras when you have 300 horses for 200 quid a month!

Figures:
1339 deposit
223 x23
Importantly NO administration fees....watch out as a lot of companies are sticking up to £200 booking/admin fee on the cost.
£6,472.51 on the nose.
Is that for 10k miles a year? Such a great deal and it's not like basic spec is that basic on a Golf R.

I was determined that VW could go and fk themselves after their patronising attitude following my chat with them after being on the radio, but at these prices it's hard to resist.

What can I say? I'm weak. smile

Spoke to both Dan's dealer and Naz's dealer

Dan's price doesn't include Pure White

Naz's price doesn't include Metallic

However still two excellent deals in there own right.

Thanks guys
My price does include pure white. I have a formal quotation.
Spoke to Ben at around 09:15 this morning and mentioned your name. He said their 'contribution' had since been reduced and the white was an extra £11.00 odd p/m on top of your quote

Did anyone else call Dan's dealer today and get the same deal? (Including White)

Sure did, Ben said he was a very busy man today!! laugh

This is the quote that he supplied to me:

3dr
White
DSG
10k per annum
PCH (no business proofs required.. just driving licence and utility bill)
Deposit of £2400 inc VAT
23 Payments of £210 inc VAT

Waiting to see if my local dealer can equal the deal, if not, then I'll likey be ordering through Ben. He did say that delivery was looking like cApril/May now though.

Cheers,
Grant

8k pa. Which works for me as it's a 2nd car, no comuting. And if I decide to do more it's like 7p a mile, so works out less than a 10k mile agreement.

To be fair to him I did really push him. I know you can never tell someone's being 100% straight with you in the car business but he was very open about the way things work and the figures, emailing me a system screen print. The figure I quoted was after negotiating him down on what was already and excellent deal.

Given the attitude of my local dealers, I would have used him rather than try and get a local price match as I believe they deliver and he was so good to deal with. When I talked to him about what would happen if my circumstances changed before deliver his response was also more than fair (not that I would have ordered if I thought there was anything other than the remotest chance of me cancelling as I don't like to mess people around).

Has anyone leased a high spec car? Specifically I want the posh sat nav. Do the options make the deals a lot less attractive?

In most cases you pretty much pay the full price of the options over the period. As a result you're best sticking to as basic specification as you can live with. I needed DSG and was happy to pay a small amount more for white but nothing else made financial sense.

Cost of option devide by term.

Nav is what...£1800 so on a 6 + 23 you'd be £1800 / 29 = £62 a month and £370 odd on the deposit.

Really useful comments thanks. And BTW, how did they manage to find sat nav that costs £1800? Baldrick and his dream turnip springs to mind.

Yes they do. Simply divide the option cost by 24 to work out what it will add to the monthly payment - Pro Sat Nav is £1,765 so that will add £74 per month to the overall cost. When you consider the base cost of these deals is roughly £270 (5dr manual in Red) just adding sat nav bumps the cost by 27%.

Ticking the option boxes on a 24 month lease seems madness to me, however I can't preach as I did go for Lapiz Blue as I can't stand solid red and it would have grated on me every time I got in the car.

It's funny how there is a totally different logic to leasing than buying. When you're buying you're also thinking about resale and what options will be desirable. It seems when you're leasing you want the base spec because you pay for the options and the leasing company gets them for free at the end of the term. Never noticed that until now.

I'm in now.. 5 Door DSG in Lapiz Blue. Sounds like some folks have got a slightly better deal than me but happy with the service from the dealer so far.

One a bit more local to me in the end Naz. I spoke to your chap but he didn't come back to me yesterday. I've got a pre-ordered car from my dealer so the leadtime should be a bit quicker, albeit I reckon about 300 pounds more expensive. Thanks anyway though!
