I'd be extremely surprised if you got hold of a Golf R on PCH within 6-8 weeks when some people are getting quoted over 6 months for delivery... but I suppose it depends on what spec/what the dealer has coming through the pipeline.

Happy to be proved wrong obviously, happy.. and a little jealous, haha. laugh

Cheers,
Grant
Yea I'm the same I don't think it's feasible after reading this and other threads. Apparently they can only check the 'pipeline' once they have my deposit - LOL

As I understand it every dealer gets an allocation of car slots per month. Once they use up (for example) their march 15 lot then they will move onto their April 15 lot. So I suspect some dealers will have better delivery dates than others.

Can I as an individual have a pch policy?

As I've only been quoted pcp, which is double the cost

Due to the number of Golf R's on order/delivered, the residual values are likely to take a bit of a hammering and I suspect once the price increase is factored in the 2 year deals are likely to be around £300 plus VAT rather than £200 plus VAT.

Dealers will have figures within the next couple of days.

If you have been quoted by a dealer but you haven't yet pulled the trigger, you need to get a move on if you want the £200 deals.

If you haven't been quoted by a dealer, you are unlikely to get a £200 deal.

Sorry, I missed this reply earlier. getmecoat

The dealer that we used is Camerons VW in Perth and the salesman that we dealt with is called Carlo.

Depends who you use. But I'd guess it's better to ask them than asking us.

I just received an email from Ben asking if I'd mind posting that the deals have now changed so those interested will need to contact him for figures.

Did your Mrs get an R?

We got ours Saturday and have to say it's a marvellous runaround for the money. smile

GTD. Found a deal at £213/month. At the time we ordered the R's were a fair bit more and it's got a smaller boot (no good for the 30kg dog!)

No sure if the order tracking issue surrounds just recent orders but I have been told by VW that they have technical issues. I figured it may be all tracking or just orders of a certain status.

Our 38 kg dog prefers it in the ds3 than my 5 series touring. An Rs boot is plenty big enough.
