Just has a call from VW UK re my order. I had emailed them to ask when my order might appear on the tracker. They were surprised that I was waiting until April. I said I didnt want to but that seemed to be the only choice presently.... anyway as its not until April they dont expect my order to appear on the tracker until Jan time.

I read somewhere that the cars have to be delivered before march 31st for the deals to be effective so i think its more that the cars can't be delivered in time for the promotion rather than the promotion ending now.

watching with interest...

Just had a lovely moment in my R where the rears kicked in and snaked me around as i was launching it on sand/gravel. Wonderful feeling biggrin

Where has this information come from? It's been mentioned on here and the R forum now..

I spoke to my dealer about this last week and their reply was that I have signed a deal stating the prices, have had finance confirmed and a build slot allocated therefore the order and price is "locked in" regardless of when the car is delivered.

Hopefully this is still true come March/April time for mine and plenty of other peoples sake!!

Sounds like different info being given. I was told there were technical difficulties when I queried by e-mail. I think I have read that order tracking available quite soon after an order placed. I think recent orders should show as order processing but could be wrong.

I was told this by the dealer, but it isn't quite that straightforward. It has a lot to do with allocation and time of ordering.

Basically, if you order a car from VW, it have to be delivered by the end of the following quarter, or the deal doesn't stand. Now, for example, if the dealer has an allocation of 10 cars, and orders 8, and 2 are delivered after the end of the following quarter, the chances are VW will honour the deal.

If the dealer has an allocation of 10 cars, and orders 30, and say, 15 are not delivered on time then VW could quite likely refuse to play ball.

So, in essence it is true, but only if your dealer has been playing silly buggers and ordered over their allocation.

HTH
Thanks for sheding some light on it, seems like I will need to ask a few more questions of my dealer then. Not too encouraged by the fact that I know of at least 5/6 others who have gone through the same one! VW could have a bit of a mess on there hands come end of March next year then..

Looks like the GFVs have taken a hit with the new rates according to this post on the R-forum http://www.rforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=7...

Ling has removed her deals and she's normally up to date. http://www.lingscars.com/Volkswagen/Golf_R-leasing...

Anyone successfully had an order accepted since 1st November with the cheap lease rates?

Be interesting to hear what the 24m/20k GFV is now.

On a manual its a shade over £15500 - I believe 51%.

It was 60% last quarter!

They seem to be checking the VW retail finance website for the GFV.

According to that site the 24m/10k PA the GFV is the following.

3-door manual £17388
5-door manual £17982
3-door DSG £17902
5-door DSG £18495

That's quite a difference when they were sitting around £22k initially!

For people that have leased (before Nov 1st) the reductions in gfvs that VW are now quoting on pcp deals can only be a good thing.

If your 24 month Lease deal is costing around 8k, and VW give the option to buy at the end (which apparently they do) and the used values are low, it could work out the cheapest way to buy. If you intend on buying after 2 years. If you don't then it means diddly squat other than you've got a great deal

Going by the new information above, it does seem as though the dream has ended!!

We must have been one of the final people to pull the trigger as we ordered two Golf R on Friday 31st and today we had confirmation from VWFS, along with our order numbers. hehe

When I woke up on the 31st I didn't have any idea I'd be ordering a new car - but by 4:45 I'd had a signed order accepted. Have you any sort of predicted delivery date? Dealer talking beginning of May atm for our 5-door DSG Lapiz Blue.

I mentioned above that I was in the market for a R and thought I'd missed the boat after being quoted 6+23 @ 430 for 10k 5 door manual yesterday morning.

By 17:00 I'd secured a 5dt lapiz blue R with STD equipment for 266 inc vat for 24mts

I was also sent a quote by another broker today for a tornado red 5door DSG for 289 inc vat

So seems there are still some deals to be had

All I need to do is wait (BTW - when will I get an order num?)

Thanks

That's great news - I presume these are quotes generated with VWFS before the 31st? Hopefully some people can still be helped into these last few deals then.

I think so, speaking to the company my wife secured the deal with they had access to 3 cars. All with no options, 2 in flat colour and 1 in metallic. When the Mrs asked to add options we were quoted the revised price.

roll on March or April

Haha when I said that I'd have a look at prices for my sister to change her Polo GTi to a Golf GTi, I didn't really think that I'd be organising her a Golf R as a replacement... and I certainly didn't think that I'd be putting pen to paper on one for myself!! laugh

Regarding delivery, I've also been told to expect it to be the start of May for both cars.

Cheers,
Grant
