My order confirmed as "not accepted yet by factory"

This was placed on 24th Oct, they said it could be further few weeks before it is.

Started to see others with similar order times get BW's already so think it confirms it wont be March allocation and is definitely April/May now.

Anyone else order around end of Oct in similar boat? if you ordered after that and have BW don't post and make me jealous frown
I ordered mind on the 22nd and it still on step 1... Have spoken to VWCS and they are useless but are chasing to find out why the factory has not accepted the order... I ordered mine from a VW dealer and they are absolutely useless... !?!?!

I feel your frustrations!
I think as others have said that if stuck on stage 1 for a while then it indicates it has fallen outside dealer allocation and so wont be the estimated time they may have suggested.

Mine was also direct via VW dealership but have seen a lot of others via brokers but the order going through same dealership. So no doubt they filled their allocation by time I ordered and mine will be 'delayed'.

Thinking now of going down PCP route via broker finance and doing deal on one of the few showroom R's in the country...

I have been chasing VWCS and have now found out that my dealer put in a target build date of February for a March delivery and thus why no progress since stage 1. The dealer has now changed the date to next month and claimedly it will now get a build slot. This is all from VWCS.... I have been told that I will get a build slot by Monday... I'm fingers crossed but not sure how much power VWCS have over factory build slots... I'm pessimistic!

Where are you guys getting the tracking numbers from? I ordered around a month ago and was told march. I've emailed asking about VW tracking etc just to be told there no firm delivery date yet. Oddly a friend has also ordered 2 weeks after me with the same company and has a tracking no.
Have you asked your dealer for the order number? In my experience it is taking a while for the orders to show online. I was told that there were technical difficulties but in reality I suspect it is due to the amount of orders.

I placed my order on the 29/10/14. My order is at the order processing stage. I am not going to say I am not bother about knowing the build week but in the scheme of things I am trying to remind myself it has only been a few weeks. I was surprised when I looked back how long it had been between the order being placed and showing online. It was only just over a week but felt longer.
All sorted, the guy I was dealing with wasn't too sharp on the reply but anyway I hadn't been home since I placed order & the welcome pack was sitting waiting on me complete with the order number. I'm at build stage 2 on the tracker.

Drove one today for the first time - wow!!

Then got my finance illustration - £584 PCM - Not wow!!

These Golf Rs seem to have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous, which is a shame cus I really would have wanted one.

What kind of finance deal? PCP, PCH...? There were a few manual cars pre ordered on the rforun when I looked yesterday which I assume are a bit closer to the cheaper deals....?

It was a personal lease, although I had requested the cheapest monthly option, but still surprised by the numbers. The same dealer currently offers a GTD tdi with DSG at £275/month. The list price difference between them is £4K! I don't get it.

They're getting me a PCH quote Monday - I'm keeping fingers crossed.

They're tremendous B-road weapons.

To see what they can do, turn off the support systems and go for it.....sublime.

Far better on the standard 18s too.

Things that could be better.....night time ambience (needs more colour) and the ability to change the driving mode from the steering wheel.

Almost Evo quick down back roads and, with their compact dimensions, I can think of few cars that would keep up.

The harder you drive them, the better they become and the more you realise just how good they are.

Great choice, that's a fact.

Thats a shame i never saw that on the spec sheet or would have ordered them...

Question anyone dealing direct with VW for their Golf? I am wanting to put a cherished number on the car is this possible? If so what's the process and how much do they charge?

If it is a lease it shouldn't cost and you'll just need to put VWFS as the nominee on the retention certificate.

Ask your dealer for the exact details.

Not sure on their fees for processing the removal at the end.

I just sent my retention doc to the dealer and they are sorting it for me.

With regard to real world MPG - i don't hang about - I've probably done 60% runs, 40% town driving..

Hopefully it will improve as it beds in.

For contrast my stage one mapped astra VXR showed 22mpg for the same type of driving

I've ordered mine without sat nav and was wondering what the point of the over sized screen would be, not a lot seems like the answer

I thought you could change the spec up to so long before it had been built. Worth giving your dealer a shout?

I would go the complete opposite on that first point.

It is QUICKER than you think. - its all very civilised and no drama, you assume because you're not pushing on. then you glance at the speedo..

those pictures don't do it justice. there are many a screen and menu that makes use of the screen size.
