Really pleased to see this thread is still helping people buy/lease what is an incredible car... 6 months in and still loving mine!

Slightly off-topic but after a 4th place in Evo's car of the year (behind Ferrari 458 Speciale, Jag F Type R and Cayman GTS), Autocar have now put the Golf R in first place (!) for this year.

Should be ordering mine today, just sorting out some fluctuation in quotes, which seemed to be confusing me. Adding Lapis Blue but losing DSG and Door seemed to make the price jump £50 a month over two years, which all seemed to be a bit odd!

I ordered on November 2nd and the order is sitting at Stage 2 with a provisional build week of 13 according to the salesman.

Application sent for mine today.

3 door Manual in flat white, no other options at all - £254 per month inc vat on personal lease 6x23

Seems not many have gone for manual, I only did it because it's cheaper, but do you still get the sports mode or anything? Are there an non cost options I should be ticking, I just jumped at the cheap price and can do the spec later. Requested my delivery end of May, no hurry at all for me

I Ordered my end of Oct, i received a text from vw this AM also, moved to stage 2,
any idea when i would receive more info on build week?

Anyone have an idea if i can amend my order and by when i need to put in the request. do i contact the dealer or broker?

I am in two minds if i should add the 19s and increase price pm... i hope its not too much additional per month.

Is yours a lease? If so amending it probably not possible due to having to resubmit the finance which will now be on the higher rate.

As for build week, give the dealer a call and ask for provisional week, it won't go to stage 3 until around 4 weeks before it's due to be built.

Awesome, give the dealer or vwcs a call and they should be able to give you an indication of build week although this is subject to change until it goes to confirmed.

I ordered mine on the 1st July and it's being delivered on Wed, it's been a long wait but hopefully will be worth it. I was initially getting it on a PCP but converted that to a lease as the deal was £50 a month cheaper that way and I never planned to keep it longer than 2 years.
