Lease on Golf R

I've seen a few around here now, and unfortunately most appear to be driven by idiots. I have never understood the drive around looking for people driving slower cars to race attitude. Suppose tis just the same as when the Civic TypeR was popular - and the Impreza. Cheap fast cars always attract the young wannabe Hamiltons and us enthusiasts get tarred with the same stty brush.
All that does scare me with the Golf R and the young drivers behind the wheel is the fact the capabilities of the car are so high that when they do run of talent the resulting crash is going to be at a very high speed. Can think due to the cheapish insurance and affordable lease costs you are going to have 19/20 yr old lads going from a 1.2 limited edition corsa (etc) and jumping into a 300hp hatchback its a recipe for disaster.

A very exciting morning in the JQ house, I've just jumped from Stage 2 to Stage 4 - Build in Progress, got a text this morning with confirmation. Anyone know how long from Stage 4 to delivery? VW build tracker is not showing an update.

Folks - sorry to partly rehash old ground...
I have an opportunity to purchase a new golf r from a vw garage with delivery mid march (its a car they had on order themselves - a bit cheeky?).
I am just trying to work out how i might be able to finance the car as cheaply as poss. The finance manager is quoting me pretty high PCP figs with a rubbish residual.
This might be a daft idea...but would I be able to get a broker to tie in with the dealer on this car and offer me some sort of finance / lease ?
Alternatively, I am tempted to put 5k into it and get a cheap, long term tesco loan for the 25 k balance (perhaps 10 years - say GBP 275 / mth) and keep fingers and toes crossed I wont be in negative equity when I come to shift the car in 24 months time (pretty sure I wont but with the volume of cars around its not a given). Over 2 yrs the rough figs would seem to be 24 x GBP 485 (208+275, the 208 being the 5k (similar to 6 + 24 at GBP 388 ??.. which doesn't sounds too shabby).
Any ideas gratefully recd
ps. the car sounds like a cracker.

Sounds expensive to me whatever you do if only planning on keeping 2 years...I have an opportunity to purchase a new golf r from a vw garage with delivery mid march (its a car they had on order themselves - a bit cheeky?).

Rough figures of £12k to run a Golf for 2 years seems mental I would guess in 2 years you could buy one for around £20k or so!

Anyone used the 6fj code for black mirrors? , main dealer I've ordered with says no can do, silver mirrors only

I quite fancy black mirrors on mine too especially as I've gone for pure white. Only thing holding me back about asking is whether it'll mess up my build week seeing as vw are so sensitive to changes!!

I got a mate to paint me a set gloss black...now just need the car...tazco said:
I have had my build week confirmed by VW as week 11. Approximately after how long do you actually get car delivered?
My experience with my R...Within 1 week at the docks in Emden after build
Within 1 week shipped to one of the 3 UK docks
About a week to get it to the dealership
1 -2 weeks for the PDI and delivery
so i would say 5 weeks would be a good estimate, although mine seemed to be pretty smooth, i've heard of cars sat at Emden for a good few weeks before, and then the same at the UK docks... it's all a bit of luck to be honest.

Did you find that your car was delivered early than the build week provided by VW? Or are their estimates pretty accurate? Within 1 week at the docks in Emden after build
