Lease on Golf R

Probably not as they would have to re apply for the finance and it would be at the new higher rates.
I doubt VW would release the same deal for new customers even if there was a cancellation.. There is so much demand for them at the moment... It's won loads of awards and there are idiots like me who are waiting 6 months!!! . Carlique said:
Random but of interest, does anybody know the 0-60 times on a DSG without using launch control, just straight off the line in regular auto mode? Thanks
How long is a piece of string? Depends on how much you bog down and how much traction you find when you mash the pedal This waiting for order status updates from VW is so painful and boring....
Ordered towards end Oct.
Order eventually was shown as processing after 2 weeks.
Order was 'with factory for scheduling' by the end of Nov.
Order hasnt been updated since. So no formal build week is confirmed yet.
VWCS tell me its BW6 but I dont believe them....
Reckon it will be April before I see it.

Well VWCS provided me with a new BW today. No longer BW6 and surprise surprise its now scheduled for BW14 (w/c April 30th)! So will be May or June at the earliest. So likely 8 months wait. Later than was originally told and much later than VMCS' update over a couple of weeks ago. Trying to resist cancelling my order. Ordered towards end Oct.

My Golf R was delivered yesterday (from July Order) and thought I'd share some initial thoughts for those of you still waiting....
I got it in white...but think maybe white hides a lot of the lines, the 18s look OK but maybe a little small...
interior lighting (blue) is amazing and looks great on a white car.
Its been a while since I've driven a fast car (my current car is an 13' plate SL350) but the performance in this thing is laugh out loud fast! you get to silly numbers very quickly. I did think though the power delivery fell away at the top end and for that i think the DSG would have been the best option to have that linear delivery throughout the gears (just my opinon of course )
For those that have theirs, what does everyone think of the ride? Maybe coming from the Mercedes i felt it was pretty hard even in in ECO mode (i don't have the adaptive dampers option) is there any way to remedy this? I think that would be my only gripe in what is a pretty impressive bit of kit....and truly the "swiss army knife" of cars.

I've had mine since April last year, and I actually think the ride is pretty good - for the type of car anyway. Even my grandmother doesn't complain in it.I'm on the standard 18" wheels and no adaptive suspension also.
I've come from a series of MINIs though with Sport Suspension and big wheels that are real bone shakers.
Hello, just found this deal, any thoughts?
Golf R 5dr DSG
8k miles
24 months
£289 per month inc vat
£2601 deposit inc vat
£360 admin fee
Total over 2 years £9608 (£400 per month).
I'm no expert but assuming the car depreciates by around 30% in 2 years and the car is £30k brand new, then that's a depreciation of £9k.
To me this sounds like a reasonable deal, any thoughts? Waiting list is ~7 months.
Thanks
