64 plate for me delivered on the 27th Feb - not bothered about having a 15 plate and the 640d goes back that day, plus VW dealer said they were fully booked 1st week of March for deliveries...
Brilliant laugh

I wasnt too bothered about a 15 plate either but thinking about it for the sake of a few days (or picking it up yourself) it seems a bit daft to take the car on the wrong reg.

Only if it's your car. But you're leasing, right?

Yep. If you can wait 6 months for a 'new' car why take it on the basis it looks like a used car within 3 days?

I thought about taking mine early too then thought it was a daft idea as I don't need it as my only transport.

Could have had mine 3 weeks earlier.

I'm not particularly vain or bothered about what others think but it's my first ever new car and I remember when I was a kid how we used to be excited to see a car with the new reg!

For the sake of 3 weeks I can wait for the new plate

If I could of had my car mid jan I wouldn't have waited.

Mine's being delivered on the 4th. Quick question reading insurance. My number plate isn't being recognised when I try and get quotes online. I assume this is because it's a 15 plate, and therefore not officially registered yet?

As I understand it the tracker will remain in that status until 4 weeks before your build week, at which point you will receive an SMS on a saturday morning infomring you that its moved to the next stage.

My Stage 3 text finally arrived today and confirmed for BW12... smile Ordered mid October...

So hopefully another 7 weeks to go and hoping for 2nd week of April delivery. I will have waited over 7 months for this and will not ever do it again. Have realised that I'm just too impatient... The only thing that keeps me going is the cracking price and amazing reviews from owners and journo's!

Enquired, 30 week lead time.....guess its par for the course currently?!

What were the best prices seen on this kind of spec in the past, circa £240-250ish?

I'm paying £240inc VAT for a 5dr Midnight Blue (Metallic) plus DSG... This should have been about £190 in the old days from what I could remember...

OK well it seems £277 is the price, 5dr, red, manual, 6+23, 8k pa (~20p per mile over 16100 though) as they have a saved quote on the system but need to make my mind up by Monday.....doesnt sound too bad or does it? :/

I find it amazing that you can get a car like this for such a low monthly payment!

It got me thinking though, with a decent spec R costing say £35k, is anyone actually buying these cars?

I am not sure how many are on the road, but by internet responses there must be near 500 plus. Not that it concerns you guys that have leased them, but surely even a bigger bargain will be around in a few years time.

I saw a blue one today on the A12, it looked alright.

The company I ordered with put over 400 golf r deals through in the sept / Oct offer

There's probably close to 1000 registered in leases in last 6 months.

Going to be interesting in 18-24 months time.

I'll be looking to possibly buy one that's owner wasn't previously VWFS!
