Aint you lucky, a few of us that have ordered through brokers collecting from VW Telford are still on 'with factory' stage.

What broker did you order with?

It depends which dealer you happen to order through. I chose one who was good at doing the deal and getting the price right..so he was popular. The problem then is his allocation is all used up and you have an extended wait. Fingers crossed mine remains at BW14 (or comes forward).

just curious but i ordered my R through Solent Vehicle leasing, and i have received no paperwork except the initial proposal form which i signed and returned. No terms and condition/finance docs..nothing.... should i have ? Car is stage 7 of 7 on vw order tracker..(SVL never reply to emails either.... they are sh!t)
Hi mate, when I ordered mine I got terms and conditions and finance docs to show me how much it was going to cost and for me to accept the charges. I emailed my leasing firm quite a bit and they always email me back (Blue Chilli Cars). I would have thought they would have wanted your money by now if you are at 7 of 7...call them??
When I phoned they said they would get the finance docs sent soon but no specific terms and conditions..... As I've never leased before I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get. .. I do know svl will only be used the once!

After much deliberation of going direct or using a broker I finally ordered through lingscars back in October. I've had an email from her or her staff every week without fail with an update after they chase the dealer. She wasn't the cheapest, but still very competitive. Now 4 months down the line I think worth every penny after reading about some peoples experiences with brokers and it hasn't even been built yet.

I'm BW9 (this week) and it's been murder this week waiting for my stage 5 text to say it's in transit.

Bit of helpm please. I've ordered a Golf R for delivery in June. It has no options so does it still have that noise synthesiser for engine noise or do I need the DDS for that?

DDS?

The noise synthesizer is standard regardless of the spec.

Luckily you can have it muted by the dealer unless you have kids under 12 who'll think it's brilliant.

Oh and you can order the silver mirror caps in body colour, free of charge, so the car doesn't look like you've been to Halfords with your birthday money.

Yeah, I'll mute mine with VCDS when I get it.

As for the silver mirrors...bogging. I've got a set of black ones here ready to go on smile

Will any dealer turn down the sound actuator if I don't like it?

Does it cost?

Should do and it should be free. Failing that you can unplug it under the bonnet. There's a "how to" on the VWROC forum I think. 2 minute job.

Excuse my ignorance, but what noise does the actuator make? I thought it would just amplify the engine sound into the cabin? confused

it 'vibrates' in sympathy with the engine to give a different tone in the cockpit. I must be under 12 because i love the fact you can sound like an old scooby one minute and then quieten the thing down on a long motorway journey.

Sure i'd rather have proper good sounding engine, but rather than leave you with just a 4 pot scream they've tried to make it nicer.

I too love the sound actuator on mine. Every passenger who has been in the car also loves it.

I don't think I'll be disconnecting mine either. I am hoping it sounds as good as my old Focus RS did smile

Does it pop and bang? As you can tell my research into the car was very limited, at the price I paid I didn't particularly need to smile

no it doesn't pop and bang, thats an exhaust sound you're after. This thing just imitates engine noise, think boxer or 5 pot sound

if i can be bothered later ill do a little video while I'm out.
